Odalys Residence Le Buet — Hotel in Bonneville

We have stayed at La Buet on 10 occasions and it is our accommodation of choice. It surprises me that other reviews are negative about this accommodation. In all of our stays in this budget accommodation we have been warmly welcomed , our apartments have been clean and have everything we basically need. After all, we go to ski not stay in a 5 star hotel !! As a couple, our preference is to have a one bedroom apartment , which give us plenty of room. The bedrooms are on the small size , but adequate after all they are just for sleeping in . There is plenty of storage in the bedrooms , and in the apartment , if you're tidy !!! The kitchen has all the basic equipment required , and if you ask, a kettle can be borrowed to make an English cup of tea !!!. There is plenty of hot water for baths and showers , and the apartment has NEVER been cold. ||The staff have always done their utmost to be helpful and if we were not happy with something in the apartment it has been fixed .||The biggest advantage of La Buet is in the right snow conditions it is Ski in, Ski Out and the closeness to the chair lift. || Negatives , very few but the lift in the apartment regularly breaks down over the years we have been coming to Morillion and La Buet and , seriously needs updating. ||We will be booking for next year and for as many years that we are fit enough to ski. This was our fourth visit to Le Buet, and previously I have had nothing but great things to say, however this time was so very different. We had upgraded to what I was lead to believe was a bigger room, however it was smaller than the one bedroom we had previously stayed in. That I could have dealt with, but the state of the accommodation was disgusting! Broken chairs, Dried Food splashes up the wall, the whole apartment smelt like a urinal, urine stained sheets and quilts and the dishes, plates and glasses in the kitchen had dried food all over them. It made me feel physically sick. The residence dismissed my concerns and could not see then problem and the UK tour operator was just as dismissive more or less implying that I was lying! |I wrote to the customer services on returning, who gave me an email to write to due to the nature of the complaint, no one even bothered to get in touch with me even after numerous emails. Run down apartment. Very poor value for money. 20 year old dishwasher that didnt work. Left disgusting dirty water at the end of the cycle. We had to wash by hand. We asked a technician to fix it, but he couldn't, he agreed the machine is too old. Worst is that they knew about this before we checked in and didnt inform you about it nor had fixed or replaced it. Basically they don't care... I tried to contact the organization before this review, but it is impossible to get any responds.||The facilities haven't seen any upgrade for over a decade. The skilockers give the feel of a basement of an apartment block from the 1960s.
