A wonderful place to stay in as part of TMB. Removing one stat because of the lack of showers but for one night anything can be tolerated especially when the rest of the stay is nice. There are sinks where you can wash - the water is cold but that's pretty much the norm along the TMB.

The setting and the view are spectacular at any time of day (or night), the hosts are very kind and helpful. A couple arrived quite late after dinner but they made them something to eat even though it was time for bed for most.

The food was delicious and very generous - a cheese plate along with dinner in true French style. They were very flexible in offering a vegan meal too so a great experience overall.

There is one joint dormitory but if you have earplugs you can get a pretty good sleep.

There are dry toilets during the day and normal ones during the night (and early morning) to save water. The dry toilets were clean so nothing to worry about.

I would stay here...

What a beautiful place.

We arrived to a warm welcome from Martine. Stunning views, friendly farm where they even let our kids watch the milking which was a highlight. Best milk/cheese we had (non UHT!) on our whole TMB. Comfortable clean beds and dormitory. Long drop toilet super clean and not smelly. Didn’t even bother to use the closer flush toilet available over night. Basins to have a bit of a wash (need to bring own towel/soap). Only thing that could be improved was the creaking/noise of the dormitory door which was loud enough to wake at night with people getting up. Picnic was great with amazing fresh baguettes, delicious cheese and fruit/tomato which was rare on the journey.

Highly recommend as part of the TMB. Good it’s part of the easy booking website, but other places we stayed at in the villages we would say to...

A fantastic place to stay. With the sound of cow bells on the pasture and the beautiful vistas, absolute darkness at night, it felt like heaven.

Pros: There were only three of us and two campers. The staff of two were super friendly and welcoming. They prepared us a really nice and delicious meal, aplenty. Prepared us breakfast right on time as promised. Nice sitting area. There is no electricity here so at night, we could see the milky way across the sky. It was breath taking. The staff was nice to charge our phones in their kitchen. As there were so a few of us, we slept really well overnight. I don't know why people skip this refuge, as for me, I am glad they did, because it was nice for me...

Cons: NONE

Verdict: Super A+ stay, highly recommended.. and will go back and special thanks...

The views were truly gorgeous, and easily my favourite part about the stay. However, due to their water shortage, there were no showers and washing clothes was discouraged, which was inconvenient after a day of hiking and sweating. I also thought their food was good but below average by TMB standards (although to be fair, I really enjoyed most of our other TMB meals so the bar was high). For dinner we had soup and bread, pasta, omelette, bread and cheese, and an eggy pudding (?) for dessert. For breakfast, we had a coffee/tea/hot chocolate, orange juice, cereal, and bread and jam.
