chateau Montsymond — Hotel in Bourg-en-Bresse

In April 2018 I, together with my wife and 9 other couples spent a week at Chateau Montsymond to celebrate my 70th birthday. It was simply the best week of our lives. The chateau itself is exactly as advertised, all ten bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and all living areas are big and practical. We used the pool, heated to 28 degrees, the gym, the steam room, the bicycles etc etc... Christophe Gay, the proprietor was the consummate host....we recommend his wine tour. If you have sufficient people the hot air balloon company will come to the chateau - a superb experience.

I have always recommended things cautiously but with Chateau Montsymond I am happy to post an unequivocal...

This was our second stay at Chateau Montsymond (and our third stay in a Kasteliades property) for a large family gathering and it was fabulous as always. The property and grounds are fairytale and the chateau brilliantly equipped. The pool cover was a welcome addition for the couple of overcast days that we had and we made good use of the pool room, the poker room and the tv room. We enjoyed a wonderful meal courtesy of chef Agnes and for the first time tried wine tasting with Christophe which was an amazing experience and a real highlight...

We had a family reunion at Chateau Montsymond the last week of July into Aug. There were 20 of us, some from England, Wales & Canada, and we all had a marvellous time. The rooms (all with ensuites) were beautifully decorated, with lots of windows to view the grounds. Pool was amazing, outdoor barbecue and tables used daily. We did a wine tasting at Chateau Simard with Christophe and had a special meal prepared for us by Charles from La Maison Du Poulet de Bresse.
