It is hard to think of an area more perfect for outdoor activities than Freissinieres. The hosts of this hotel will go out of their way to make sure that you get to experience a variety of sports. ||||There is the most beautiful hiking right out the door, with trails ranging from intermediate to quite steep advanced trails. Several waterfalls and scenic views all around. Then there is world class mountain biking with plenty of single tracks. ||||Via Ferrata - which actually started in this area - is available right here. This climbing is led by experienced guides. ||||In the winter there are fantastic Nordic trails, beautiful snow shoe trails and challenging ice climbing. Several ski resorts are also close by. ||||All in all - whatever season - the person looking for a multi sport vacation will love this area! We stayed w Caroline and Mark and their family for two night. The rooms and beds are clean and comfy. The atmosphere is incredible. The setting is serene and spectacular. We loved our view from the room. We had dinner at the family table in the back patio and met interesting people who shared the stories of their trip and their adventures. We used the hotel for base camp to spectate the Tour de France 2017 Stage 18 to the top of the road over Col l'izoard. We preferred a base camp in the wild of Freisinierres Valley two double up our adventure. The Alpes should be seen from their remote locales. We were in the narrow mid level valley and it made our trip so much more unique and special. We are dreaming of the day we can return and enjoy the views and the atmosphere again. Attention aux trompeuses apparences !

Comme beaucoup, nous nous sommes fiés aux avis sur l'établissement avant de réserver : quelle douche froide !

Après avoir sélectionné cet hôtel car il accepte les animaux (critère non négociable dans nos recherches) et après avoir échangé à ce sujet avec la propriétaire, qui ne voyait aucun inconvénient à accueillir ma petite chienne, nous sommes arrivés en fin d'après-midi pour y passer le weekend.

Les clés nous ont été remises à la va-vite dans le couloir, et aucune autre information ne nous a été donnée. Ne souhaitant pas de ménage dans la chambre le lendemain, et ne trouvant aucune pancarte "ne pas déranger", je me permets d’écrire un message au numéro indiqué pour le signaler. Son compagnon me répond alors qu'il est interdit de laisser notre chienne dans la chambre en notre absence. Très surprise, je lui fais remarquer qu'il est fort regrettable que nous n'ayons jamais eu cette information auparavant.

Très agacée et clairement à la recherche d'un conflit, la propriétaire vient alors frapper à notre porte moins de 10 minutes plus tard. Nous voilà donc engagés dans une discussion de sourds, où l'on nous signale qu'il est interdit de laisser notre chien dans la chambre, alors que cela n’est absolument indiqué nulle part et que nous n’avions jamais été avertis. A priori, "les clients de cet hôtel ne viennent pas ici pour skier et prennent leur chien absolument partout avec eux".

Nous n'avons donc pas pu aller manger au restaurant ce soir-là, soir de la Saint-Valentin (bonne chance pour trouver de quoi manger à emporter dans le secteur, surtout après cette discussion à 19h30), ni les jours suivants, ni même faire une demi-journée de ski comme prévu le lendemain...

Nous avions été séduits par l'aspect chaleureux de cet hôtel, vendu "au pied des pistes de ski nordique", et des propriétaires a priori accueillants... la déception est de taille.

Les chambres sont un pâle reflet des photos en ligne, l'isolation phonique est catastrophique (nous entendions la moindre conversation de nos voisins et leurs enfants), et nous avions en prime une odeur nauséabonde de canalisation.

Bref, un weekend gâché ! Nous venions chercher le calme, nous avons trouvé de la désillusion, des tensions inutiles et un accueil vraiment pas correct.

Si vous souhaitez donc passer un séjour calme en compagnie de votre animal de compagnie, sachez qu'ils ne sont pas les bienvenus et qu'il est préférable de réserver ailleurs afin d’éviter la mauvaise surprise (à savoir en plus qu’il vous sera demandé un supplément de 7€/jour pour...
