La Girandole — Hotel in Briançon

Having visited Arvieux more than 25 years ago we picked La Girandole to stay for 3 shorts nights and 2 long days :) of hiking.||The place is decent and there's nothing to complain about but what made these days a wonderful moment were the kindness and attention of Vanessa ( yes she knows the trails!) and the meals! Breakfast is just gorgeous with a taste of homemade in everything, from jam to crepes to smoothie etc.... while you may want to slow down on munchies in the afternoon if you want to be able to enjoy Jean Michel dinner!||No doubt, we will be back ( and won't wait...

We stayed here in August 2014 after booking it with very little knowledge of the area. We brought our 3 children with us (12,10,8) the hotel is old world french experence and our hosts were more than helpful with all our queries and questions. The accomidation was perfect, large and spacious with everything we needed with the pool on site being a bonus. The scenery, walks, cycle routes and stunning drives all within easy reach.This was one of the best 2 weeks we have spent anywhere and can't recomend it enough as a location that could eaisly be overlooked...

This is one of the best places I have stayed in years The village is a small alpine village unspoilt by skiing infrastructure with houses with wooden rooms. Our room was large, bed comfortable and everything needed was there including soft big towels ! Upstairs in the salle a manger, is a large space for sotting an/ or eating with a view to die for. But what makes this special are the two hosts. The lady is all smiles and can’t help you enough. The chef serves restaurant quality meals at a very fair price.. if you are in the area we highly recommend it...
