We’ve just returned from an incredible stay at Soleil Mediterranean campsite in Saint-Cyprien, and I can say this place ticks every box for a brilliant family holiday.||First and foremost, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Clermont and Arthur, the two lifeguards who attended to my son after a minor accident in the pool. Their quick reaction, calm professionalism, and thorough care were outstanding. What really impressed us was their continued follow-up throughout our stay – not only checking in on him at the poolside but also visiting our van to ensure he was recovering well. They are a credit to the campsite and a testament to the quality of the staff employed there.||I had read previous reports of poor behaviour and large traveller occupancy. We experienced none of this. However we did not take any valuables to the pool as a precaution. The campsite itself is very well-run and well-organised. We booked through Roan and stayed in one of the Premium Lounge accommodations. Our van was spotless, well-positioned, and excellently maintained. A special thanks to Tony and Linda, our Roan reps, who couldn’t have been more helpful – nothing was ever too much trouble, and their attention to guest experience was outstanding.||Facilities & Entertainment:|• The entertainment programme was great, with a hardworking and energetic animation team. Our children (17, 13, and 11) loved the vibe and got involved in plenty of the activities. The campsite is predominantly French speaking but we managed the best and joined in the fun.|• The pizzeria served excellent pizzas, and we were impressed by the high standard of meals in the main restaurant – though prices are on the high side - as are most camps.|• The swimming facilities are excellent, with plenty of options for all ages. The deepest pool is approx. 1.5mt. The children's pool is as low as 10cm. Yes, it gets busy, but the structured large slide opening hours (10–12 and 2–6 daily) help with sunbed rotation. The other 5 slides and children’s pool remain open all day. Another great policy is that after the early afternoon animation sessions during weekdays, staff clear unoccupied loungers – this really helps with availability.||Other helpful tips:|You can pre-order and pre-pay for your bread, which saves you the hassle of queuing early in the morning. - Only baguettes, pain au chocolates and croissants are available. There is a bakery closer to the beach for any more requirements|A gas BBQ came as standard with our accommodation - (Roan)|There is a Lidl a few KM's away for a 'big' food shop|The campsite is beautifully mature, with well-kept palm trees and tarmac roads throughout, adding to a relaxed and premium feel. |The public amenities although slightly dated are clean and in full working order.|There doesn't seem to be a curfew in place, or if there is, its not adhered to.|Lighting in some public areas (especially around the restaurant, bar, and football pitch) could be improved – sensor solar lighting would be a great addition.|A word on the football pitch/basket ball court: it’s quite small and has a cement surface, which may not be ideal. – The campsite could do with an additional pitch and/or a surface upgrade. During an organised football tournament with 90+ children, it felt a bit unsafe and overcrowded. At night when children are having a kick around there is insufficient lighting and so finishes prematurely||The beach is just a 15-minute walk away, but there’s also a free return train service running roughly hourly, which is a fun and easy way to get there. We had a hire car and took the opportunity to visit nearby towns like Argelès-sur-Mer and the beautiful Collioure, which is an absolute must-see if you’re in the region.||Overall, we had a fantastic holiday. The combination of safety, comfort, good food, excellent organisation, and caring staff made it a perfect experience for the...
Read moreWe had a fantastic stay at this campsite and would highly recommend it for families looking for a fun, relaxed holiday with a welcoming atmosphere.||From the moment we arrived, the friendly and polite staff made us feel at ease. While English levels varied across the site, we found communication easy even with our limited French — everyone was helpful and willing to assist.||The entertainment team really stood out — they were engaging, full of energy, and made a real effort with the kids. Poolside games were announced in both French and English, which meant all children could get involved and enjoy the fun.||We’d read previous reviews about limited sunbeds at the pool, but having stayed at other Eurocamp sites, we were pleasantly surprised by how well it was managed here. While some guests did "reserve" beds with towels, the staff were on it — blowing whistles periodically to clear the pool and encouraging guests to return to their beds. Any unattended beds were promptly cleared, which kept things fair and meant there were always beds available throughout the day. A great system that actually works!||The pool area itself was a hit with everyone in our group, both kids and adults. The lazy river and various flumes offered plenty of entertainment, and the whole setup was safe and well-maintained.||There’s a lovely on-site bar with lots of seating — perfect for unwinding at the end of a busy pool day. Drinks were reasonably priced, and the food was good too. That said, we also enjoyed taking the free train to Saint Cyprien for dinner and drinks by the beach. The train was a novelty and a really pleasant way to get around, though the walk to the seafront was only about 10 minutes if you prefer. Just a heads-up: the beach sand is quite grainy, not the soft powdery type — but it’s absolutely fine to sit and relax on.||We stayed in Roan accommodation, which was clean, comfortable, and ideal for our group (5 adults and 2 kids). The bedrooms were a bit snug, but we didn’t spend much time indoors, so it wasn’t an issue at all. Our Roan reps, Tony and Linda, were excellent — friendly, helpful, and responsive. When we lost hot water one evening around 8:30pm, they came over within 10 minutes and sorted it straight away by replacing the gas bottle. Couldn’t fault their service. Our only issues with the accomodation was their close proximity to each other. We unfortunately had a noisy neighbour who appeared to pack their car and leave at 3am every morning. This did break our sleep and disrupt the kids. As a large group, we travelled in two cars but were only allowed to keep one at the lodge, even though there was space for two. However, I do appreciate not all accommodation on the site had space for 2 cars. The second car was left in the main car park just outside the campsites barrier and we were allowed to bring it in on the last day to pack it up. ||The on-site shop was well-stocked with essentials, and although you can pre-order pastries, we chose to walk to a nearby bakery (around 10 minutes away) each morning for fresh croissants and pain au chocolat.||All in all, this was a brilliant campsite that balanced relaxation and entertainment perfectly. We'd...
Read moreLe Soleil De La Méditerranée offers a vibrant water park featuring an array of slides that can entertain both adults and children alike. The accommodation we stayed in was spacious and clean, reflecting a commendable standard in maintenance. However, despite these appealing aspects, our experience was marred by a notable lack of hospitality towards English-speaking guests.||From the outset, the camp appeared unprepared to cater to non-French visitors. Communication and assistance regarding the camp’s layout and amenities were insufficient, which created a sense of exclusion throughout our stay. The entertainment provided predominantly catered to French guests, leaving little to engage English-speaking families.||Aside from the well-designed water park, the camp's facilities were somewhat limited. The pool area, although aesthetically pleasing, seemed overwhelmed by the number of visitors, detracting from what should have been a pleasant experience. ||In comparison to previous camps we’ve visited, where bike hire and inflatable courses were readily available for children, Le Soleil De La Méditerranée fell short. The play area designed for younger children was only suitable for those up to the age of seven, thereby failing to engage our two children aged eight and nine.||Our departure from the camp was also less than satisfactory. Upon checking in, we were informed that an inspection of our accommodation would take place before our departure, reassuring us that it would not be a burdensome process. However, upon notifying the staff of our planned departure at 8:30-9:00 AM, we were told to simply leave the keys in a box, with no inspection necessary because no one is available to inspect that early. Yet, against our expectations, the cleaners arrived at 8:10 AM, demanding immediate compliance with their directions while we were still in the midst of packing. Their approach was not only unhelpful but also unprofessional, characterised by a persistent stream of criticism delivered in French, which left us feeling pressured and frustrated.||This incident culminated in an inability to double-check our items before handing over the keys, leading to several forgotten belongings. Unfortunately, the reception was closed and the cleaners were nowhere to be found, rendering retrieval of our lost items impossible.||In conclusion, while Le Soleil De La Méditerranée has potential with its water park and clean accommodations, I would not recommend this Eurocamp to families, particularly those with children over the age of seven or those who do not speak French. There are certainly better options available in terms of both facilities and customer service, especially given the price point. Families seeking a welcoming and well-rounded vacation experience should explore...
