My wife and I returned from Le Dauphin a few weeks ago after our FIFTH visit to this gorgeous lil site in southern France. And per my title, it really just gets better every single time.||||Our previous visit was in June 2019, so of course pre-COVID, and we'd been waiting to return...we certainly didn't regret it. The expansion of the site since our last trip is truly remarkable and more than tastefully done. It's a haven, an oasis...impressive new units and continuing dedication to make this site one of glorious conservation and fantastic flora and greenery.||||We opted for the Garden Suite units this time around, which are certainly an upgrade to what we have experienced previously, and having air con is a god send during the hot season. These had all the mod cons...comfy beds, great shower, you name it...and your own private garden area with a pergola along with table and chairs to enjoy those summer days and evenings.||||The pool area is fantastic as always and immaculately clean (much like the whole site in fact)...we enjoyed plenty of lazy sunny afternoons and a few dips in the various pool areas. I particularly enjoyed getting up and swimming a good few lengths first thing in the morning with the sun blazing down :)||||We used the restaurant once, and the bar a few times...both are certainly upgrades on past visits. Great food and friendly service.||||The staff are all friendly and helpful...will always see a happy face and a smile when approached. Can't praise them high enough.||||Location wise....about 10 min drives from La Plage at Argeles and also the port, both with plenty of great restaurants, 20 min drive from lovely port towns like Port Vendres, Saint Cyprien and our fave, Collioure. Worth noting that the hypermarche is only a 5 min drive away as well for all your self catering needs.||||Overall, Le Dauphin has taken a huge step on from previous years with it's expansion, increased entertainment options and generally good all round offerings. BUT of course, it was ALWAYS top notch in our eyes...hence this being our fifth holiday there.||||Keep up the great work, we will return...au...
Read moreUpon arriving at Camping Le Dauphin, we were greeted at the reception by someone who noticed we were Dutch / Flemish speaking. It was a nice surprise that the person was able to speak the same language. After explaing us what kind of accommodations are present and how everything works, we proceeded to our Terracotta caravan that was very slick and clean. Everything you need to have a good stay is present. You can sleep in one of the two bedrooms which both include a separate toilet and shower. Sunscreens can be used to darken the room almost completely, making sure you have a good night rest. Looking at the parc itself, it is really well maintained. The grass is trimmed regularly and the pathways are often cleaned with a blower. To enjoy yourself at the parc, you can take a swim in one of the three swimming pools which are all heated at a nice temperature. There is a designated area reserved in case you’d like to swim some lanes. The greatest part of the swimming area is that no sunbeds are being reserved and you’ll always find a free spot somewhere. Also present are some courtyards open for sports. And if you have children, the animation team has got plenty of activities planned that they can enjoy. In the evening there are also nice events to keep you busy. But certainly not disturbing. I would definitely...
Read moreReally pretty and generally quiet (for the south of France) campsite. Came for a week and stayed two!|Initially chose a pitch for the motorhome without sanitary facilities but near the pool, but decided to move once the pool aerobics music started - it doesn’t go on that long… we moved to a pitch with sanitary facilities and loved it - in a quieter section of the site. |Pros: really attractive site - they have spent a lot of time and money on the landscaping, the pitches had good privacy. Nice pool, Restaurant and shop. Even the chalets on site were some of the nicest we have seen- if we wanted a chalet holiday this site would be first on our list.|Cons: Music / noise from adjacent site was a little annoying but generally was only for an hour or two in the evening and stopped by 11pm. It was also just a distant sound. We were plagued by flies - not a campsite Managment problem but we will be better prepared when we come back. The site does seem to allow groups of school kids and even a corporate event (which was very noisy into the evening) to use the site and stay, which is very noticeable when the campsite is very quiet at other times.|Overall it’s a campsite we really liked and the minor issues above would not stop...
