Lo Faix — Hotel in Céret

We took a chance and chose this newly opened resort in the South of France in Early May. The Lo Faix resort is located in the beautiful Pyrenees in the South of France. The grounds are impeccable. The staff makes themselves available to care for your every desire.

There is a free standing guest house with private rooms and en suite bathrooms. The guest house has its own living room and dining room and kitchen. The resort is also handicapped accessible.

My husband and I first stayed at Lo Faix in spring time and loved it so much that we returned in July with eight friends.

Our party of 10 slept peacefully in our comfortably appointed bedrooms and had coffee and espresso in the guest dining room. We chose to have all of our meals served at the restaurant outside on the patio by the pool.

The food is delicious! Our chef, pastry chef and sous chefs created fantastic meals.

Our group spent the day hiking in the woods, swimming in the pool, visiting nearby Figueres and Perpignan.

A very very special find.

Watching the clouds move over the Pyrenees from the pool as you swim. Seeing the weather change minute by minute. A hot coffee waiting when you get out. More towels left in your room when they notice you swim a lot. A costume washed and dried and left in your room when you left it out to dry, but it rained.

Watching the stars light up the dark night sky in total silence, with taste buds still tingling from the most delicious food, prepared by people who grow their own food and really can cook. Every meal was perfect.

Being cared for/about like you are precious and you matter. Being listened to and welcomed by a community of people who find the time to show you the walks or the horses or anything else that you might interesting.

What an exquisite place! Gorgeous scenery, superb food, lovely people. Lo Faix is run by a dedicated crew of young hosts with infectious exuberance and joy - pouring their hearts into the creation of a uniquely joyful retreat center. The facilities at Lo Faix go back a long ways - old, but quite comfortable rooms, a swimming pool, dining under the grape arbor - it all was wonderful.
