La Villa is a contradiction , it is a five star hotel but many facets of its service are distinctly lacking . Firstly the positives excellent location clean and airy and modern good spacious bright clean rooms , the house keeping staff are excellent, friendly, enthusiastic and professional food is good , albeit I have had much better elsewhere. the young lady running the restaurant was excellent - very professional and friendly. the drivers were excellent- particularly Euan
The disappointments despite being a resident we were unable to book a table despite being flexible on time the wine waiter needs retraining !! He pushed for our wine order even though we hadn’t ordered / decided on our food ! He made no attempt to be helpful , he overfilled the glasses , he even wanted to poor a second different wine into the same glasses we were frankly appalled and he argued the point. He was rude and arrogant . the room service menu for children lacked imagination . It was also Problematic that hot food was not available until after 7.30pm ( the food actually arrived at 8.50 pm). a meal served to one of our friends had paper in it !! The waitress apologised , but for a 5 star rating I would have expected the owner / manager / chef to come out and apologise- indeed the chef did come out and came over to us but then proceeded to talk to two people on the next table for 15 minutes with his back to us - a opportunity lost! my wife and my daughter were at the beach but the hotel refused to come and collect them ( having done so 2 days earlier ) - the person was unhelpful , didn’t offer to organise a taxi or make any suggestions
This hotel did not live up to its 5 star rating , please improve the consistency of your service level - attention to detail and training are core...
Read moreSupremely overpriced for what they offer and the location. There’s no beach. The gym is a joke with no bench and nothing but a couple of treadmills. The breakfast has mostly only cereal and some cold meats. Eggs, pancakes and anything you want hot has to be bought!! There was no milk/creamer in the room to make coffe. I asked for some and was charged $9 for it 🤨||Dinner is perhaps the worst thing about the restaurant. Below average food at Michelin prices. €50 for a plate of vegetables with 3 small carrots and a bunch of bitter radishes. Horrible service too, the waitress kept pushing us to order more even we said we don’t want anything else. The wait staff is mostly all teenagers so the service is spotty. The experienced wait staff is grouchy but the youngsters are sweet even though they understand much English.||We went to the other Relais Chateaux for dinner one night and found the service and the food there much, much better. ||Do not recommend this hotel all if you are from the US and value...
Read moreWe spent 2 weeks in Corsica and this was our favorite stay. We should have stayed longer to enjoy the area. Reception is warm and welcoming. The room was luxurious and quite spacious for a junior suite. ||The concierge is phenomenal. Their restaurant and activity recommendations are extremely thorough. They helped us arrange a local wine tour (again highly recommend). ||A special thank you to the team for assisting a taxi driver in Paris who found one of our bags at Orly airport. Their swift communication and willingness to coordinate with the driver saved me from what could have been a stressful situation. I was amazed by how effortlessly they handled it, showing their commitment to excellent customer service.||Beyond that, the hotel itself was immaculate. Views are great. As mentioned the rooms were spacious, nicely designed, had great amenities, and well-maintained. Photos on website are accurate (at least for our room). Balcony was large. Photo is the view of the port...
