Chateau de Blomac — Hotel in Carcassonne

We stayed few nights at this charming chateau. The place is wonderful in all aspects. The chateau itself has an "old world" feel to it however it has all the modern features one might|| require. The location is excellent, just a short drive from Carcassonne Airport. Settled among the wine yards in a small, charming village of Blomac. The park land as well as the gardens are very well kept. A lot of lovely lavender and irises are to be spotted along the pathways. The swimming pool was very nice as well. Well maintained. There are plenty of sun chairs around to relax during the day or in the evening time.||We had the opportunity to dine at the chateau as well. The food and wine were just delicious and very tastefully presented. We enjoyed the evening meals a lot. They were served outside, on a large taras /patio area with a wonderful vista overlooking the park and gardens.||The room we had was very, very specious and it had a modern, large size bathroom. It was very comfortable.||Breakfast was served on the patio as well but there was an option to have it inside. Given that the weather was very sunny, we enjoyed ours outdoors everyday. The quality of food was premium. Lovely, fresh local products and very tasty bread!||We enjoyed our stay tremendously and only wished that we could stay longer to enjoy the atmosphere of this charming chateau. The service we had received was outstanding from the minute we had arrived. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing time and a good quality of food/wine. Chateau Blomac

Dishonourable billing for event left bad taste.

We organized an event at Chateau Blomac for 45 people who were travelling down the Canal de Midi in September 2023.

Weeks before the event, we adjusted the group size from the original 60 people to 45.

First, the owner contacted me and said that the catering charge could barely be adjusted, even though they obviously had plenty of time, and the caterer had not purchased any of the material for our event at that point. Because it was buffet style, staffing was not a cost factor either.

When we reviewed the final tab after the event had taken place, we noticed that it still showed 60 people. When we pointed out that they had not adjusted the per person bar and event charges from 60 to 45, the owners sent another bill that showed a reduction in the number of people, but an increase in the per person charges!

Be warned… this owner is not honourable, and the price you pay is subject to change and manipulation. Even after repeated polite attempts to reach an appropriate solution, the owner was obstinate, and refused to make appropriate and reasonable adjustments. Because of these financial shenanigans, I would not do an event with this...

This is an absolute must if you want a luxurious stay in the south of France. It is a beautiful location, with very nice rooms and friendly hosts.||||Everything is taken care of down to the last detail. And I highly recommend Table d'hote. You should definitely not miss the bbq evening, it is very good.||||We also really liked the lunch that you can order in the park. It is romantic, but at the same time just fun if you are with children, because there is a playground.||||A nice item before dinner is also the possibility of wine tasting in the cellar of the chateau. Comes with delicious snacks (amuses), a good story and tasty wines that are bottled by the owners.||||Finally, the infinity pool in front of the chateau overlooking the park is delightful.
