We made a fortune choice when we booked Chateau Juvenal for a week at the end of our recent French holiday. ||Chateau Juvenal is exactly what its name suggests - a beautiful French chateau set in lovely gardens & surrounded by the vines from which its excellent wines are made. It is situated between the Dentelles & Mont Ventoux ( of Tour de France fame ) in the picturesque Cotes du Rhone area of Provence. ||Anne-Marie & Bernard are the perfect hosts & made our time in the area very special. Bernard took us on a tour of their winery, which is just down the road, & we enjoyed learning more about the wine making process as well as sampling the range of excellent wines produced by the chateau . ||These wines are also served at the dinner held most Wednesday evenings at the Chateau This was one of the highlights of our stay as we joined other guests to enjoy Bernard's excellent cooking in a relaxed garden setting. ||Anne-Marie provides the dessert & they both contribute to the friendly atmosphere that prevails at these sociable evenings. ||Anne-Marie was also invaluable in recommending & booking local restaurants for us & as a result we enjoyed some of the best meals of our holiday in Provence. Her suggestion for my birthday dinner was absolutely perfect- a restaurant in the countryside about 25 minutes away where we enjoyed delicious food & wine as we watched the sun set over the vines spread out below us. ||However it is not necessary to travel that far to enjoy excellent local food & wine. There are numerous restaurants in villages dotted around the chateau from only a five to ten minute drive away. ||Anne-Marie's suggestions for sightseeing activities also helped us to make the most of our time in Provence. I will never forget the blue of the lavender fields around Sault & the Abbaye de Senanque or the stark eerie beauty of Mt Ventoux or the unique mix of art & music in the Carrieres de Lumieres sound & light show in old limestone quarrries-all suggested by Anne-Marie & highlights of our time in France. ||However if you just want to relax, Chateau Juvenal is also a great choice. The rooms are spacious (& cool in the heat of summer), the gardens provide a shady retreat & the pool is perfect for the ultimate cool- down. ||If we are fortunate enough to return to this lovely area of France, we would stay...
Read moreMy husband and I recently stayed at Chateau Juvenal, and it was absolutely amazing. As soon as we arrived, we were blown away by the beautiful surroundings and the impressive chateau itself.
The owners, Bernard and Anne-Marie, were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They made us feel right at home from the moment we checked in. They were always there to answer our questions and make sure we had everything we needed. Anne-Marie even went out of her way to drive us to a nearby city to pick up some e-bikes. They really went above and beyond for us!
Our room was lovely, with stylish furniture and a comfy bed. The attention to detail in the room's design showed off the chateau's charm.
One of the highlights of our stay was the wine tasting and tour led by Bernard. We were able to try some delicious wines from the chateau, and Bernard was so knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. We even had a spontaneous dinner with some of the other guests one night, which was a lot of fun. We enjoyed our time at the chateau so much that we ended up cancelling some of our other plans just to spend more time there.
The location of Chateau Juvenal made it easy for us to explore nearby villages, historical sites, and wineries. We could either hop on our bikes or take a short drive to discover the beauty of the Provence region.
Overall, our stay at Chateau Juvenal was absolutely fantastic. The owners were amazing, the room was great, and the location was perfect for our adventures. We can't wait to go back and experience...
Read moreWe were two couples who stayed in a "farmhouse" two bedroom apartment for one week. The rustic looking interior was absolutely modern with an induction stove top, an oven, microwave, fridge, internet. Pool on the property. The location is perfect for short trips to Beaumes de Venise, Gigondas, Seguret, Bedoin (Ventoux), Avignon for markets and wine tasting. And biking if you are so inclined.||The hosts, Bernard and Anne-Marie are superb and the wines of Chateau Juvenal were very good for the price. We thoroughly enjoyed their hosted dinner. Their dog Jicky rapidly became a friend who "escorted" us on walks and greeted us every time on our return (I am allergic to dogs but she is irresistible). ||If visiting Rhone again, we would stay there in...
