Le Gîte du Carmel — Hotel in Carpentras

Beautiful oasis in a lovely town with lots of nice things to see (Friday market, church, lovely snaking streets etc). Olivia was a dream host, so accommodating and helpful, kindly helped with our parking situ, and check in time, and her lovely mum, Brigitte, helped on check out! The gite is made up of more than you can see. A little self contained double room downstairs off the garden with its own front door, a bigger apartment also off the garden with kitchen and also self contained and then a huge apartment (self contained) and with kitchen and white goods/uiloties. Not to mention the beautiful grand ornate radiators I wanted to take home with me! Each room has a fan and comfortable beds/bedding/towels plus even a beach towel. The garden is so peaceful and with lovely wafting palms and grapes growing. We had a fabulous time as a group who were at a nearby wedding a couple of days later. What a wonderful long weekend we've just enjoyed at this beautiful former monastery! It's incredible. 3 separate apartments that we shared between 7 friends which ended up being the focal point of our visit!

Olivia was absolutely lovely and was so kind to us all on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble! She let us check in early and depart late too. Absolutely perfect!

À la recherche d'une escapade inoubliable dans le Sud, nous sommes tombés sur une véritable pépite ! Les photos sont belles, la réalité l’est tout autant dans ce logement où couleurs et lumières se conjuguent en une harmonie parfaite ! Le bon goût est de mise, l’atmosphère douce qui se dégage contribue à cette sensation de bien-être ressenti à l'intérieur de ce lieu dans lequel nous n’avons jamais manqué d’espace. Quant à la piscine, blottie dans un cocon de verdure, elle est une oasis de tranquillité, offrant un refuge serein et invitant au repos de l’esprit et du corps.

Par ailleurs, le logement est idéalement situé au cœur de Carpentras dont le charme m’était inconnu et qui m’a rapidement conquis. Le patrimoine historique de la ville est riche, on le ressent en s’y baladant et je ne pourrais que recommander de se rendre au sommet de la porte d’Orange (un guide-conférencier est nécessaire) d’où la vue sur la ville est somptueuse.

L'aventure ne s'arrête pas là : la proximité du Mont Ventoux, accessible en voiture, a rendu nos escapades en randonnée aisément réalisables, un aspect pratique pour les amateurs de nature et d'exploration.
