We visited this lovely old stone farmhouse in Les Baux at the end of March, just as spring was beginning to colour the local cherry orchards with pink and white blooms. Our hosts (Elaine and Tarlochan - English is their first language) were marvellous, making sure fresh, hot croissants and steaming coffee were on the table each morning at a time of our choice.||||The upstairs accommodation has two bedrooms, a sitting room, bathroom and toilet, all of which was for our use. There were two of us but if a family or a group of friends visit there is plenty room for everyone.||||There is an outdoor swimming pool for the warmer months and a small gite at the bottom of the garden.||||The village has a small bar and is known for organising local cultural and social events, depending on the time of the year. During our stay the children of the village marked 'bienvenue au printemps' by touring the houses in fancy dress gathering eggs for a communal giant omelette, which was cooked in the bar at lunchtime.    Read moreWe spent a wonderful week at Oustau du Ventoux in October 2021. The main building is an old farmhouse with lovely big public rooms and a huge homely kitchen where we had delicious breakfasts including fresh baguettes and croissants collected from the local bakery each morning. The bedrooms are very comfortable, quite typically French B&B. There is a guests' lounge on the upper floor near the bedrooms equipped with a large TV, fridge, comfy furniture, and (most importantly!) wine glasses and a corkscrew for sampling the local wine collected on daily adventures! The accommodation is scrupulously clean. Outdoors there is a beautiful garden, complete with olive trees and lime trees, a pingpong table, a lap pool, and a bicycle shed (this is Tour de France country!), and a very pretty gite for those who prefer self catering. Since the weather was absolutely perfect, we spent time every day in one of the several comfortable seating areas in the garden with our local wine and a good book! Hosts Elaine and Tarlochen could not have been more welcoming and hospitable, and were able to direct us to local sites and great restaurants and cafes in nearby villages and towns. One caveat: unless you are travelling by bicycle, you really need a car to get around. However, it is well worth it to have your own set of wheels to explore this beautiful area of France! Highly recommended, and hoping to pay a repeat...
