This hotel isn't expensive so I wasn't expecting a great deal from it.|The check in is automatic so if you're lousy at French there's a safety route for you! It is easy to use but I wasn't aware I had to pay another €1 on top of what I paid for online.|The room was just a basic double bed and an overhead bunk bed too, a desk, TV, wardrobe and a tiny ensuite. |Everything was fine and the room was very airy and cool which was welcome as it was 31C outside. |I found the bed quite comfortable. |The ensuite however was almost too small to move in and when the floor gets wet it is incredibly slippy, but that's really the only major flaw. |We only paid €5 for breakfast each but it was a very good traditional French continental buffet with breads, baguette, brioche yoghurt etc and orange juice, coffee and tea and very worth the money as you can eat as much as you like and for the price it's a very fair deal. |Would recommend a hotel like this if you're just stopping for one night or only want something very basic-but good value for...

Chalons itself is an interesting town.||||If you are adverse to cigarette smoke, ask for a room that doesn’t have a wall-mounted ashtray outside the door. Our room (No 105) had two such receptacles, and they attracted a posse of young smokers.||||Reading the reviews, I raced to the breakfast room shortly after it opened to ensure things hadn’t run out. There was plenty (admittedly of a limited selection) ... the room was uncrowded ... and there was still plenty when my husband finally arrived 75 minutes later. Good value.||||A friendly and efficient vet was a 4-minute drive away - ideal for sorting out our dog’s Pet Passport. We hadn’t booked an...
Read moreWas not impressed by this ‘hotel’ at all. I would not recommend to stay here if you are a couple or a family. It seemed to be ideal for workmen as the car park was full of white vans. Very cheap and was booked by my father in law. I would have checked out facilities before booking and would not have chosen to stay here. Our room was on the ground floor and felt very unsafe. Although the room was clean it smelt of cigarette smoke. The bathroom was tiny and you could sit on the loo, clean your teeth and have a shower at the same time. We did not like the look of the breakfast so did not stay to...
