Chambres D'hotes & Champagne Douard — Hotel in Château-Thierry

We had the one family room in this hotel and the whole place just has a very nice atmosphere. We spent 2 nights here and were allowed to park our car right next to the entrance for quick packing. Breakfast starts at 7:00 but don't be afraid to go ask if there's no one there. If you're on a strict schedule they might forget to be on time but they'll solve any problems immediately!||It's located in the middle of nowhere but your GPS will be able to pick up on it. We did not go see the champagne brewery they have because this was a business trip for us, but since a lot of the jams (breakfast) were homemade I'm sure they put all their hearts into it! A lovely place, very peaceful, away from it all, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Five traditional rooms in the Chambre d’hote and four modern rooms in the gite. We had the use of a large lounge/dining area which was great, a loft type room perfect for groups and families to get together, and wonderful for wine tastings with amazing views. Breakfast was lovely, lots of homemade jams and conserves. Champagne whenever we needed. ||And the tour of the Champagne House was very informative, with a very special tasting. ||Vincent and Marina were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they helped us with organising transport as we didn’t speak French. Had 1 night here to meet friends. This was a stopover on our journey from Paris to Dijon. Lovely tranquil location based on a Champagne vineyard. The owners were very welcoming, rooms spacious and beds very comfortable so we had a very restful night's sleep We had a free champagne tasting. English spoken. Breakfast was adequate - no croissants or cheese other than a soft spread although the homemade preserves were excellent.
