I booked well in advance for a camping plot through pitchup and expected one of the many nice grassy pitches surrounded by hedges around the site. Instead I was allocated the worst pitch in the site with no grass , next to the WCs and totally exposed around two sides. Other campers who had not reserved, or who had reserved through the campsites own website had been offered the better sites. I offered to upgrade but was refused. As a solo female traveller I felt very humiliated, but had to accept because I had paid in advance. Eventually the site manager agreed to let a family pitch their tent alongside my van because they had nowhere else to go and I felt less exposed and safer. The manager wasn’t so bad a chap after all. The surroundings were absolutely lovely - this is a good campsite under normal conditions but was very busy due to the Tour de France. All is forgiven, but campers beware - if you’re alone book a ‘comfort’ pitch through the sites own website.

Liked: The surroundings are a nature lovers delight. Beautiful sunsets around the mountains surrounding the lake. The sanitation buildings are adequate and well maintained. Most of the other pitches looked grassy and were surrounded by neat hedges and some trees. A walk around the lake is an absolute must. The cafe looked good all though I didn’t need it.

Disliked: The pitch i was allocated was dire. A patch of earth right next to the sanitation block. I was told it was the last one left, and it was very busy due to Tour de France. However when I asked why better plots were allocated to guests who arrived after me , I was told that’s because they booked directly with the campsite and not pitchup. Apparently pitchup offered a ‘privilege’ at only a few more euros that I should have realised was the best option tomguaranntee a grassy pitch, and that I should have stated a preference not to be allocated a camp next to the WCs!!! I did offer to pay for an upgrade but was refused. Apparently the fee that Pitchup charges per booking means that my custom was not as worthy as those who booked direct with the campsite. I felt quite humiliated but had to accept the situation because my payment had been taken. I would have been better off parking up in the car parking area by the lake for free. I would advise anyone booking to go for the privilege option. It wasn’t clear on WhatsApp site what this was for, as all the photos are the same, but now I know and won’t ever return due to the attitude...

Disappointed. Pitch was very worn little grass and loads of ants. Next to railway line and path used by motorbikes so you lost the tranquility. Had to pay for WiFi which was disappointing bearing in mind the cost of the pitch. Although lake is stunning it is not part of the campsite and not dog friendly which was disappointing so had to go elsewhere. One night got locked out as wasn’t aware of gate locking policy. My daughter had to sleep in car park as she was on our car bed and we couldn’t get the car back on site as Manager couldn’t open gate for us which was very worrying and could have been avoided. If the gate cannot be opened what would have happened if there was a fire! First night missed food as wasn’t told of bar time even though 5 minutes earlier my husband saw people walking away with food. Second night had difficulty getting served at bar for food, people in front got served quickly but then we seemed to be left standing there for 10 minutes resulting in us having to walk off to get food elsewhere. First night no toilet roll in cubicles which is very poor when you arrive after a six hour drive. Unfortunately the campsite is sold on the back of the lake setting, but the camp condition and service needs to be improved for us to stay again and not just rely on the...

Camping it self is very nice. Well maintained and big enough places for campers, tents and cars. Showers and toilets are clean. No problem with hot water.

But the manager guy it's totally different story.

You need to buy a coin at the reception for washing machine. Based what was written on information sheet at the laundry room 1coin=4€. But when I wanted to buy it the manager told me it's 5€. After I said it stands 4€ on the sheet he told me it's 5 now.

When my coulleagues left from the mobile house 2 days earlier they rented I asked manager if I can borrow laundry dryer rack for 2h to dry off my clothes. In very rude way he told me he's upset at them and he will not do it.

After 2 weeks the battery in my car got flat. I couldn't start the engine. The camping worker told me there is a set of start cables in the company car but I need to speak with manager. When I asked him he told me he doesn't have any.

So if you willing to pay 300€ and feel like intruder it is your place then. Otherwise go and find more client friendly place. I've been traveling and paragliding all over the Alps for years but never ever I've experienced such a rude and arrogant...
