3 stars is 'average' and 4 is 'very good'. I have given 3 stars because our early season visit (in late May 2017) was good but fell short of 'very good'. Blame TripAdvisor!||||This site is reachable in a day's towing from the overnight Dieppe ferry using motorways. The facilities in the low season are partially closed but reasonably clean. The staff are friendly and laid back - possibly too laid back but equally, the French low season does not provide much work...||||There is a small spa on site but no information about using it. There is a camping kitchen, which we (being caravanners) did not use. The swimming pool is not part of the campsite and is only open in high season (August). The children's playground is well looked after but again only partially open in low season.||||The site has a number of camping cabins/mobile homes and a number of grass pitches, which are level. The grass could have done with more care and the hedges separating pitches are a bit straggly but the site is shady and very quiet.||||There is a small shop but it does not really cover even the basic needs - it is more of a bar and ice cream place. Illiers is a lovely town with everything you could wish for but is well beyond walking distance. I do recommend a visit to the park on the opposite side of the river from the town while you're looking around.||||This is not a site I could recommend for an extended stay but I do recommend it as a stopover. Note that although we could not see any particularly notable watersources nearby the site has a number of signs indicating escape routes from flooding and therefore may be a flash flood risk in...
Read moreQuite literally just back from a week long stay here and it was so lovely I had to write before bed! Clean, comfortable and in a brilliant location for visits to paris and chartres. The site was exactly what we wanted. Small enough to not be too busy and good for small children. We have two boys, 6 and 4, they loved it. Mini golf, go carts, bouncy castles, trampolines, assault course, table tennis and lots if other things to do! All of the activities are either free or really cheap and the equipment is clean and in brilliant condition. There is a small bar serving drinks, pizzas, chips, burgers and ice creams and it's great quality. The showers etc are very clean and we never once had to wait for a shower. Lots of friendly campers and whilst most stay as a stop over, we found it perfect for a quite week with day trips to chartres, paris and the numerous castles surrounding this area. The swimming pool is brilliant! It's the village pool but it's free for campers and basically on the site. 2 large pools with a slide and diving board. Huge grass area that wasn't busy even when it was very hot. Isabel and yannis are great hosts and according to the kids we will be back! Lovely holiday and...
Read moreLiked: What a brilliant site! We had such a great week here. Super clean, tidy and amazingly- quiet! It never felt felt busy or chaotic as some sites can.
The pitch was great, private with shaded areas under the trees! Each has its own water tap, which was brill!
The kids facilities are absolutely fantastic! Everything you could think of, they could happily have spent everyday on site if we let them.
The Pool was brilliant, trampolines, bouncy castles, go karts to hire and the wooded area an extra bonus on super hot days! They could play on the equipment or chill on hammocks in the cool shade of the trees.
Toilet blocks/showers were always clean and tidy. No toilet seats (as expected in France) but one does have one which made it easier with our youngest.
Staff were super friendly and helpful!
The Location was great, we had some lovely day trips to local areas and even managed day trips to the palace of Versailles and Disney which weren't too far away.
So glad we chose to stay...
