This is indeed a beautiful well cared for and immaculately maintained site run by very caring staff. It would be ideal for families wanting to re-connect without constantly gazing at their phones and media platfroms, because the wi fi and data availability is tragic, irrespective of your provider! Also if you don't like children this is definitely NOT the place for you. That said, 95% of the children were extremely well behaved and looked after well by their parents, unfortunately we were next to the 5% who made life in the tent unbearable. I would also suggest that renting one of their delightful little cottages is far preferable to 'tenting' and pays for itself in the long run. Oh and if you are coming from the UK and are tenting you, will need a power convertor from large three pin through to two pin and then your UK adapter for Europe, they do provide the primary connector for a returnable €20 deposit, but you would still need an extension cable which can be purchased from the extremely well stocked supermarket in Les Pieux which is about 12 KM's away, otherwise you can bring your own with you. Thoroughly recommended site if you don't mind children in abundance and little or no wifi, the beach is beautiful and totally unspoilt as is the surrounding country side. Eating out places are few and far between and those that there are tend to close rather early, there are some superb kiosks at the local craft fair in Surtainville which is only a few Km's away, there is also a lovely bakery there which opens early except on monday when it is closed. Unfortunately the weather was atrocious when we were there, the worst for 20 years, which made us regret even more not booking a chalet instead! Still I am sure with decent weather tenting would have been much more fun! A lovely place, run by...
Read moreWhat a fantastic site, Edith and her husband make you so welcome, nothing is to much trouble for them. The biggest pitches I have ever seen anywhere, no reservations when we went as they have so much room.||||Very flat sandy/grass pitches you might need black rock pegs in some spots, we bent a few normal pegs. The views are amazing as the pitches are tiered, you can see the sea from most pitches and it is a short stroll to the almost empty clean beach.||||The many toilets, showers and dish washing areas are basic but they are so clean, also has a small laundry room.||||You can get freezer blocks from Edith a deposit of 2euros and a small charge for re-freezing, but she will freeze your own blocks free for your return journey. There is fresh bread etc available from middle of July and a small area for some food and drink items and camping gas.||||Very laid back no one seems to get up until after 9am, very popular with Dutch and Germans, no other English which was lovely, there were a few children about but none of them were booted out of the tents at 8am to play football outside your tent or hung around the toilets.||||Lovely area to walk dog just below the campsite with a small lake.||||In fact we chose not to go out and stayed at the site a lot more than we normally do as it was so lovely and quiet and very sunny with beautiful sunsets.||||Had lovely neighbours in a couple of the chalets with lots of World cup chatter.||||It stayed light till about 11pm and we sat outside practically all of them time, and seemed to drink copious amounts of wine, which made Edith laugh lots.||||Very sad to leave this hidden gem of a campsite will definitely...
Read moreWe have walked a week along the seacoast in Normandy, on the path named "Sentier des douaniers" (GR 223), sleeping in campsites found on the way. Bel Sito was the nicest.||||This means that for two people, you pitch your trekking tent on a bit higher field than the entrance (the camping is on a slight hill, with different levels), facing the welcoming desk, on a big grass field. Beside, there are a lot of families - Dutch people above all, a few less French -, children play around, despite there are no big animations or a swimming pool... The campsite is not noisy as there is no evening animation... People come and go, greet others. Contacts were easy, simple, never pushy...||||As you are not located in a village and the sea itself is a kilometer away, with access via a car way - you feel yourself nested on a cosy place... From the campsite, you see the sea... This was, even for a night, our best experience, in a serie of 7 campings in the region.||||The only one bad point : as a private campsite, prices are higher. 20 euros/ night for us, twice the price compared to a...
