The property looks like a medieval house but badly maintained, it lies directly next to the train tracks, so you will hear every passing train. You enter through a kind of a storage room where owners keep their not so fresh vegetables along with their overcoats and shoes. Then you go to a kitchen where dishes and leftovers after owners' meals stay on the table or in the sink for a long time. During a day you see this unpleasant picture at least when you leave the property in the morning or come back in the evening. Then you climb the stairs through a staircase and the first floor full of clothes, laundry and other stuff the owners keep there. The guest rooms are the last floor. The room and bathroom are huge and equally dirty. The floors are sticky, the carpets not vacuumed, the bathroom not clean, all covered in mildew and stains, the furniture is full of junk and leftovers from previous guests. The bed is uncomfortable, too short for anyone bigger than 1.80 cm, the mattresses too old and too soft. The sheets did not seem clean so we slept in our sweat suits, just in case. The towels were border line as well. The whole property smells weird, of old food, unclean laundry and decay. We had our window open all the time, otherwise it is just unbearable. We had breakfast once, which was served in the living room. You get a usual French breakfast, but the table, dishes and glasses were dirty, the living room was untidy, full of personal belongings of the owners. All in all, it is just a dump, the worst stay in our lives. The fact that something like this property calls itself b&b is a shame. We were completely misguided by the wonderful reviews this property has and absolutely can't explain the difference between what is reviewed and what you get. We felt cheated of our money, had no possibility to cancel with the cancellation fee being the whole amount we paid and still we could not bring us to stay all the nights we booked. On the other hand, the water in the shower was hot and you could park in the back yard.

I can’t recommend this B&B enough! Situated approx 20 minutes from Cherboug in rural Normandy this centuries old home is beautiful and our hosts were lovely (luckily for us their English was brilliant too!) We had an overnight stay with continental breakfast. Our rooms were clean, very comfortable and full of beautiful charm. There was tea and coffee provision and a lounge area for us to use if we wanted. We are a family of 5 and were easily accommodated in two bedrooms with our own enormous bathroom to share. ||Our hostess kindly offered us the use of their kitchen to cook our evening meal but as we were unprepared she directed us to a great place to eat nearby. ||In summary, stunning accommodation, great hosts,...
