Hotel is quietly located with plenty of parking. But after that it went downhill, Walked into room and it was like a sauna - heating set to 30 degrees plus. Totally unnecessary for a bedroom. Perhaps the staff at this particular hotel felt the cold as the breakfast room was also set at a very high uncomfortable temperature. Linen was clean. Previous Campaniles that we have stayed in offer a selection of coffee sachets and teas together with biscuits. Not at this one 1 sachet of coffee and 1 tea bag, not even a biscuit crumb. We found the beds uncomfortable. On using the wash basin in the morning water flooded out from underneath all over the floor. This was reported and from the impression from the receptionist it was not a surprise. But the main issue was room cleanliness. It really did need a deep clean. Yes I know they are budget hotels and paying 60 euros a night, but I still expect a certain level of...

I've stayed in this chain many years ago when I needed a budget option. Decided to give it another go given I stayed with elderly parents and we needed an overnight stopover with an easy access room which is sometimes hard to come by in France. Firstly, it isn't new, as some photos suggest - the facilities are showing their age. However, it is clean and the bedding and towels are reasonable quality. The location is out of town in a quiet residential area. I recall the USP of Campanile was the good meals - which is why I chose it given we didn't want to go out again after arrival. Truth is the dining area is very basic décor wise and needs refreshing. The evening buffet didn't look fresh even though we were there at the opening time. Arrived to poorly ventilated rooms with absolutely no frills. No soap/ shower gel in the bathroom and a drain that was blocked. TV broken. It rained at night and the drainpipes were faulty causing water to pour noisily onto the cars outside. Not 3 star quality which is such a disappointment. The staff were friendly and polite but with a little more attention to detail this hotel could be made so much better. A lovely park outside which is great for children and pets. Staff listened to our concerns which was appreciated and a reduction was given. I hope the team can make it a better...
