I am always in 2 minds about leaving positive reviews about sites which are hidden gems for which part of their charm is their quiet, undiscovered nature, wanting to selfishly keep them to ourselves and in the hope they never became too busy and popular and hence lose the very thing that attracted us to the place. But of course, credit has to be given where credit is due and this site is simply one of the best we have been to, and we have been to a lot all over Europe. If anyone wants to know how a campsite should be run, then they should look no further than to see how Alasdair and Fiona have set up this wonderful site in the French Gers countryside. We read about it in Cool camping and it certainly lived up to the very positive impression we gained before our arrival. I would emphasise that what we look for now that we travel as a couple is very different from what someone with children who need entertaining would look for. Unfortunately there appears to be a great many sites out there that cater to families and teenagers, but very few that cater to couples who just want peace and quiet. Bread and pastries can be ordered for the following day, but probably the best aspect are the incredible showers and toilets (spotless), together with the excellent FREE wifi. Both of these things are again surprisingly rare in campsites these days. The shower was simply the best we have ever had outside of a hotel and the wifi, which is usually rubbish if free at sites, or worse you have to pay for it, was excellent. This despite being in the middle of the countryside. Congrats to Alasdair and Fiona on getting everything spot on, and thank you. We will be...
