Casa Petre e Fiori — Hotel in Corte

What a warm welcome for our first trip to Korsika: |the guest house is situated at the tip of a hill close to the mountains of the Cervione village in easy distance to the main coastal road with supermarket a.o. and short distance drive to the beach. By car it will take you about 40min from Bastia International Airport and gives you a perfect base camp for day-tours around Cervione as well as Corte (where we drove for about an hour for a canyoning tour).|As a family of four we had the suite with enough space and a big bathroom with tub and shower.|Breakfast was included and served as we wanted to get up individually: Croisssants, homemade jam, daily fresh homemade cakes, eggs from own chicken, espresso etc.|The owners raise varieties of chicken which itself is really interesting to discover; and the beloved dog Mozart made friends with our daughter form the first minute on. |The guest house is quiet (excepted for the roosters in the morning which gives you a good feeling of being out in nature) and is so lovely decorated. It provides a pool, a BBQ place and a Shared community room. The wifi is fast (so no complaints from the children).|The owners are perfect hosts and provide a hearty stay for the entire family. It will be a lengthy review, yet a thorough one to set the expectations right.||We stayed there for 2 nights. The lodge is in a great location. The start of the short stay was good but it turned out to be very unpleasant due to the lack of hospitality of the owner. They were fine and flexible for our late check-in which was the only positive service they provided. When we checked in they informed us that the swimming pool is not useable due to an incident and we could still enjoy the sun beds. However the area was not ready to be used at all. The rooms are nicely decorated but completely inconvenient to unpack as there is no hanger. There was not any bathroom utilities like shower gel, shampoo and hair dryer! The air conditioner was not functioning and we were lucky that it was just the beginning of the season and the weather was not too warm. ||The worst part of the stay is that despite our disappointment we wanted to give constructive feedback to the owner and sent them a message of the things that were missing and asked if they can help provide them. The answer was extremely unfriendly and they didn’t do anything with our ask. It is pity to have them run such a poor business in that nice neighborhood. We do not recommend this place due to...
