Chambres d'Hôtes - Couvent d'Alando — Hotel in Corte

Staying in Alando at Marie-Laure's wonderful chambre d'hôtes was a highlight of our Corsica vacation. All five of us were captivated by the tranquil charm of Alando, but even more, the warm reception by Marie-Laure. Our rooms were quiet and comfortable, and we enjoyed the small pool and picnic area in the garden. But we were most impressed by the fabulous meals that were prepared for us: colorful, fresh salades composées, tender homemade pasta, and fancy desserts, all made from local products. Each meal was unique and presented with care. Breakfasts included freshly baked breads or cake, an assortment of homemade jams, and a choice of hot beverages. Amazingly, Marie-Laure also had time to share the stories and history of the surrounding area, give advice about nearby hikes and activities, and encourage cordial conversation among the visitors at her table. Best B&B I have ever stayed at! The setting is positively breathtaking, up in the Corsican mountains, in a little village where the local people are very welcoming and always ready to help you with directions. The host and her family are charming and welcoming, and Marie-Laure is a wonderful cook, she puts all her heart in her cooking: homemade, organic, healthy, uniquely flavoured, a fantastic experience of authentic French food! We had a wonderful stay at Marie-Laure's place! She is a welcoming host and knows how to treat her guests well. The room is beautiful and spacious, with a nice bathroom. The place is up in the mountains, about 25 min from Corte, reachable by narrow moutains roads. You will share it with cows! We took the diner she offered us, shared in the main dining room with other guests (24 euros by person for 3 courses including alcohol) and it was very good!! Small portions tough.
