We had great expectations heading here after 5 days on the GR20 sleeping in refuges. We could not wait to have a hot shower and sleep in a proper bed. |The plus points: hot showers! Staff were extremely friendly, clean rooms, plentiful food in the restaurant in the evening - just what you need after a day's hiking. |Downsides: the bed was just so uncomfortable, me and my partner barely slept a wink despite being thoroughly exhausted. This put a real downer on our stay. Breakfast was SO stingy - 1 small drink and small piece of bread each. We had a full day's hiking ahead!! This simply wasn't enough. It was also quite expensive - we paid almost €200 for the one night with a set dinner menu and the 'breakfast'. We wish we'd stayed at the refuge for a fraction...

Read moreArriving after a day hike on the Mare a Mare trail, you don't want to wait for your (reserved) room until the guy on the reception end his (long) private phone call.||Food and room however where OK. The restaurant has a great view and the service in the restaurant and bar was good.||Breakfast was very poor (the worst on our trip): 1/3 of a french bread, 1 croissant, 1 tinny prepacked jelly, 1 coffee and 1 security guard to make sure you didn't grab something extra from the other pre-'filled' serving plates (like in a good old boarding school).||I wouldn't recommend it, but it's the only accommodation in the surroundings and there are no shops nearby to buy a picknick or a...
