We arrived quite early at the house and had a very warm welcome from Marie, the owner. A really friendly lady who only speak French, therefore a bit of a language problem, but we all got there in the end. The house is comfortably French, with a self contained unit of dining conservatory with comfy settee, and dining room. Marie lives next door so you have total free reign with this side of the house. We had the double bedroom upstairs which also has another room attached making it a family set-up. Our room was quite dark, but comfortable, lovely en-suite attached, all beuatifully clean. Marie's breakfasts were to die for with mountains of croissants, bread, brioche, home made preserves, meat, cheese and coffee and tea on tap. The second morning Marie prepped filled brioche with ham cheese and an egg, then baked in the oven. Delicious, talk about being spoilt. We didn't need to eat all day. My step son was staying with us for a couple of days and he had a very early start (6am) the morning he left. Marie made sure she was in to get breakfast ready for our guest before he left. So kind and thoughtful. Nothing seemed to much trouble. You really are in the middle of one of the main wine growing regions here, with vines growing in a field at the top of the garden. Very...
Read moreDisappointed by this accommodation which we booked via bookin.com. Seems to be a few discrepancies from what is advertised on website...such as no washing machine, oven, check out time, tennis courts ...
Madame greeted us on arrival via opening the window of her property to say the cabin is open the only other contact with her was when we received a text message on the day we were leaving informing we "must" vacate premises at 10:00 but our booking reservation confirmed checkout time as 10:30. Monsieur however was more sociable and friendly when we saw him working within the grounds of the property.
There's no air conditioning and given the position of the cabin which is in a corner of the owners yard we were unable to get any air flow through...this accomodation is definitely not geared for hot weather conditions. No visible fire/smoke or carbon monoxide alarms which would be a cheap improvement.
Positively the cabin is located in a lovely area, close to many wineries and the village of...
Read moreOur stay here was the nicest of our entire trip. We were greeted with a friendly smile and fresh strawberries, and genuinely welcomed. The room and bathroom were spacious and spotless. We had the upstairs suite, which created the privacy of two rooms. The kitchen downstairs was stocked with tasty late-night snacks, and had every utensil that we could desire. Breakfast was perfect - tasty and plentiful, great variety, and a wonderful view over the vineyards. ||||Regrettably, we were just passing through for one night. Next time we will make this our home base in the region, and explore from here.||||Our trip was in...
