Chambres d'hotes la maison bleue — Hotel in Dole

There are many excellent B&Bs in France. In our experience this was not one of them. We booked with Booking.com, as usual. But when we arrived we were told our room was taken. We chose one of the rooms that was left. It had a nice balcony overlooking the countryside. The room was full of African 'things'. The house itself is full of eastern religious artifacts. There were so many things that were just not quite up to standard. The stairs is incredibly steep and I think would not pass health and safety standards in the UK. The photos portray a very different expectation of this property. The corner bath is not in a bedroom, but accessed by all. We never saw a hot tub. The pool looks great in the photos. Breakfasts in France are usually excellent. In this case we had yesterday's croissants and bread. I wish I had a photo of the breakfast spread. There was a basket of cheese wedges, two baskets of biscuit bread, pots of unusual jams, basket of cheap 'yogurts'. Nothing fresh. In fact everything seems to have been done on the cheap. But when it came to pay we were asked to pay £53.60 for the room we did not have. The double rooms were advertised as £45.10. I gave up trying to make the point in my limited French. And paid him for the room we did not have. Trip advisor has been partly responsible for the rising quality of accommodation and service in B&Bs in the last decades. We can all...

We stayed here as a stopover on a long drive to the south. The house is in a village that is in rural France. The village has no other tourist amenities and was very pleasant for that.|||| We were in the 'Marine' room that was stuffed full of all sorts of artefacts and quite bizarre! Pleasant none-the-less though. A very large terrace overlooked the pool and surrounding countryside. |||| Breakfast was basic but plentiful and it turned out also contained the best cup of coffe I had on the trip.|||| As mentioned, the stairs are very steep with shallow treads and not to be tackled by the infirm or tipsy without a stout and sober assistant!|||| Another point is that we had to pay cash as he couldn't accept cards, so bear...

La struttura è situata in aperta campagna, ed è molto ampia, ma necessiterebbe di una ristrutturazione radicale. Si presenta sovraffollata di soprammobili, quadri, oggetti vari, che al di là del gusto (che è personale) appesantiscono insopportabilmente il luogo ed occupano inutilmente il già scarso spazio a disposizione. La stanza da 4 è microscopica, non solo non è possibile aprire le valigie, ma nemmeno trovare spazio per appoggiarle a terra. C'è un bellissimo terrazzo, questo sì. Si dorme pochissimo poichè il caldo è insopportabile e non essendoci nè climatizzatore nè ventilatore si è costretti a dormire con la porta del terrazzo aperta, e le zanzare abbondano. In più spesso un asino raglia ad un volume baritonale, e svariati cani abbaiano. Il bagno è IN CAMERA, nel senso che WC, lavabo e doccia sono DENTRO la stanza dietro una tenda. Ovviamente rumori ed odori si trasferiscono in stanza ed anche se si è in famiglia... Lo scarico della doccia è intasato. Lo scarico del WC è chimico (come quelli degli aerei) e ad ogni scarico produce un rumore terrificante, impensabile utilizzarlo di notte. Le federe dei cuscini non hanno l'aria troppo pulita. La piscina è carina, ma non molto pulita e l'acqua è gelida (alle 18 di un pomeriggio con 35 gradi). La colazione è sciatta, composta da prodotti industriali. La connessione WI-FI praticamente non funziona. E ci tocca pure pagare in contanti perchè non accettano carte di credito. Il personale è molto simpatico e disponibile, ma questo non basta a rendere nemmeno decente il soggiorno presso questo bed & breakfast. Siamo rimasti solo perchè si trattava di una sola notte durante un viaggio di trasferimento. E' vero che il prezzo non è caro, ma la qualità è di livello...
