Overall a good value for money with basic room and amenities. Nice swimming pool and good location with free private parking. Short drive to St.Tropez. However…..
The hosts did not provide a clear communication on Booking page which became a real shortfall for our arrival experience. Though it stated the check in time from 3pm, we arrived at the property at around 1.20ish pm and was hoping to leave the car there before the check-in time. Their property is quite spacious with lots of free private parking.
Little did we know, the property is gated. Rang the doorbell and tried making calls the past 10 mins with no sign of response. Our first thought, did we get scammed?
Later we found out the hosts deliberately ignored the doorbell and later texted me with another number mentioning their reception hours. This kind of treatment is not what you’d expect from reading many great reviews on here. We had to contact Booking customer service to nudge them. If they did not want to let us in, they could just have answered via doorbell telecom and we would be on our way.
They were upset (especially her husband stormed out from the room trying to stuff his phone in our faces) as they were expecting us to know Bed & Breakfast rules which is not stated anywhere on their property information nor receiving any instructions prior to our stay. Their opening hours are 8am - 12pm and 3pm - 8pm FYI. If you arrive or contact outside of these hours, expect silence.
Different properties have different rules - you cannot expect customers to know if you don’t mention them. Other properties we stayed during this trip did amazing communication with clear instructions. This experience left me with a sour taste in my mouth.
Other than that, the lady host was nice enough to let our car in at the end and spoke to us calmly. Our stay was ok with minimal interactions with the hosts. However, her husband was ignoring us the entire stay even though we bumped into each other a few times and I once greeted him politely (no response). Quite petty to be honest.
We won’t return nor recommending any of our...
Read moreYes, this B&B is off the beaten path and it takes half an hour to walk into town. Which is actually great because the owner bakes fresh croissants and baguettes every morning so it's a great way to walk off such a decadent breakfast! I swear, I am tempted to ask to have frozen goods delivered to me in Croatia. We all have reasons that we go back to a particular place and besides the beauty of St Tropez these croissants and baguettes are it for me! Ok, after your socks have been blown off by genuine French croissants and baguettes, you could go for a swim in the pool that is on the property. The rooms have all the necessities, are very clean and quite quaint with nice bathrooms. I did have a car when I stayed here but try parking in the actual town of St Tropez! The walk was a way better option. The roads are narrow and there are no sidewalks so you just need to use caution and common sense plus if you will be out in the dark, bring a flashlight or use the flashlight on your phone. St Tropez is a beautiful place to explore but it is also very expensive which is why I chose to stay here. The prices are reasonable. It is family run. The matriarch had 5 children and when they all left home she did not know what to do with her time and big house. That is how the B&B came about. Now some of those children are involved in the daily operations and you can feel that you are staying in a home that is loved and cared for. As I said, the rooms are simple, but everything is clean, tidy, no rips, tears or stains. I will for sure go back next year.....and arrange to have frozen croissant and baguettes couriered to me! I did take a few pictures of the property but the only one I could find was of the croissants! I will post others when...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our stay. We had a car and drove around the area and stayed a few nights as we were attending to a wedding at Chateaux de la Messadiere. It is a bit far from the port and we had to get a taxi which was 20 euro each way. however, it was the best choice for the price! The owner is also a woman and made us feel very welcome. We really enjoyed the pool. Best things: the breakfast and the room! breakfast was really tasty with croissants and pain aux chocolate plus fresh bread, eggs, ham and cheeses and really nice jams. So nice having breakfast outside overlooking the pool. The room was clean and with nice little touches (such as a kettle) and well decorated. The balcony was also a nice surprise and the whole place felt so private...
