Relais d'Endron — Hotel in Foix

We were walking GR10 and were staying here on Saturday 29 August 2015. We arrived and were looked after by the young daughter of the owners who did not really acknowledge us. Our rooms were fine we were given sheets and pillowcases to make our own beds. Dinner was acceptable and afterwards we went for a walk around Goulier which is interesting but was deserted. ||We could hear very very loud pop music echoing from somewhere in the village. We assumed that it was some sort of local fête and would finish about 11 o'clock or midnight. How wrong we were they stopped playing at 5.00 am. Shutting windows in our room made no difference it so loud it was absolutely impossible to sleep. A French walker we had chatted with the night before was going ballistic complaining as|we went down for breakfast saying the majority of guests were walkers an it was completely unacceptable to be kept awake like that. ||I complained too and left my email address as I was promised an apology from the mayor, two months later I have heard nothing. The owners appeared to be sympathetic but as they knew about the problem they should have at least put us in rooms on the other side of the building. ||Without the music would I recommend it as a place to stay? maybe as there are not many alternatives but I think the...

This is a really excellent gîte. It’s the only game in town for food or lodging, so the owner could have gotten by with a lower standard, but the food we had each night was really delicious and carefully prepared. The room was clean and modern and the terrace, where we could sit during the day, was very pleasant with a great view.
