My wife and 2 friends had booked a Static Caravan at Camping Ile de Boulancourt for the week in the hope of a quiet relaxing stay in order to be fresh for a packed week of climbing.||I must say that Jerome and his staff are friendly and accommodating and the campsite is clean and well kept.||||My poor review comes from the first 3 nights were marred by very noisy neighbors, up until 1am in the morning, i informed Jerome after the first night and he did talk to the group concerned{ i do not blame them for having fun and being loud } but did not enforce this the following 2 nights. In fact Jerome said that i should just go round and ask them to be quiet!....I explained that it was not my Job to enforce HIS rules.||Jerome did admittedly take some money off a Boulder mat we hired but that is small compensation for 3 nights of disturbed sleep and in essence my entire trip ruined that i had specifically trained over a year for.||Also we found the Wifi passwords{given to each individual} to be tedious and a little penny pinching as you have to reenter them every day. Would be easier and more generous to put it an inclusive part of the Caravan/Cabin price.||At the end of the week Jerome seemed nonplussed by the fact we had chosen to clean our own Caravan{ which we did and was inspected of by a very helpful member of staff}....it seemed to our group that he was annoyed because he had missed out on his cleaning fee.||||Jerome asked if he would see us next Year....Unfortunately i said NO for the reasons i have...
Read moreI would absolutely recommend this to couples and families who want a laid back camping experience. |For us this was a perfect balance of camping in a natural environment- right beside the river with all the fabulous wildlife - the ducks and hedgehog were frequent visitors. It was fantastic hearing the owls at night as well....but there were also enough creature comforts for easy camping. ||It was all simple but well equipped with hot, clean showers and loos. |Our pitch was well kept but not too preened and we had plenty of space from other campers and it felt very private. ||We had a day trip to Paris, which was pretty easy as there's a direct run from the local station at Malesherbes to Montmartre (La Chappelle) - just one and a half hours. ||Lots of gorgeous forest walks as well.|We went horse riding in Fontainebleau forest - which was around 20mins away. ||The village is tiny but picturesque and the local shop has bread orders each day and provisions (and a little bar for post-forest beers 😀). ||All in all couldn't fault the site. Our only very minor quibble was paying for wifi - but in fact this was a bonus as it kept us away from our tech as we restricted ourselves to paying for 2 days to check...
Read moreWe stayed here in a 2-man tent so that we were near to the forests for bouldering and had a brilliant time. It was so peaceful, the staff were friendly and our pitch was right by the river with a little spot where we could have a campfire. We had all the facilities we needed and they were kept very clean and well-stocked with things like loo roll, and it is cheap and easy to hire a bouldering mat (plus they sell other climbing equipment in their small shop). There is a communal room where you can store your food in the fridge (essential if in a tent!), cook on the hob/microwave and charge electrical bits, plus hang out there if it rains. Previous guests have left behind things like oil and salt, and you feel safe leaving your food and electrical devices unattended. One tip: there are very few utensils bar a couple of butter knives and tiny chopping board, so if planning on cooking bring a pan and spoon. We loved it here, it was quiet at nighttime, all you could hear was the owls in the trees. We'll...
