Guesthouse Le Nid d'Amour — Hotel in Forcalquier

We stayed two nights here and totally enjoyed our stay. Pascal and her family are the most welcoming hosts you could have. They were very helpfully in everything you needed. We got a room with a patio and very much enjoyed it both night's. There was also many other sitting area around the B&B if you wanted your own space. It was so nice to have a quite relaxing place to regenerate. And have someone take care of your needs, even if it's just putting your bottle of wine on ice. We almost passed on dinner, and we were so happy we did not. It was the most fantastic dinner we had and we could not wait for breakfast. Even a picky teen enjoyed the meal, everything is made fresh. Ended up having two rooms connected with a door so there was some privacy between the two bed's. Everything at the B&B is warm and welcoming. The one negative I did not like was the open shower area. My cousin ended up hanging up a sarong to get a little more privacy in the main room. There is a second shower in the other room. Also got lost finding the place GPS did not help. Pascals husband came and got us in town. I would suggest using written direction's from town to find the place. Once you get off the main road it's still a 5 min drive to the B&B. In a 3 week trip this was my favorite...

For 110EU you have the pleasure of staying in a tiny, windowless room with no bathroom door (there is a partially helpful curtain, but you better be intimate with the person you're with).||||The owners are the nastiest I have ever run into. When our friend booked for us, she told them we would arrive around 9pm, and that we have a baby. They agreed to provide a baby bed and dinner. We arrived at 10pm because our plane was late, and were yelled at for being late. The baby bed wasn't set up, and it took the girl about half an hour to figure it out. By that time our child was exhausted and crying. At 11 they knocked on the door to yell at us that we better get the baby quiet. We were told "you are in France now" (where I guess planes are not late and babies don't cry). They hysterically called our friend who booked for us and told her that she should take us. In other words, they wanted to throw us out in the middle of nowhere, at 11pm, with a baby. Of course they never provided the dinner they promised.||||I'd be surprised if the other reviews are real - somehow most of the other reviewers all have written only this one review.||||Go anywhere else, but don't give these nasty...

I wish I could tell you it was a great place to stay - and it probably is - but they had a group that wanted the whole place that overlapped our visit and they took their reservation regardless of the fact that we had booked 1st. They then asked us to change dates - which we could not - forcing us to change our plans 3 weeks before we are to leave on our trip. We are traveling to the area for a wedding and did not want to spend 2 nights there - where we are not wanted - and then move somewhere else for the remaining 2. Really disappointed that they put us in that situation. Obviously more interested in the money. I know this lone bad review probably won't bother them, but I hope it gives others pause when they think about...
