L'Arbre d'Alice — Hotel in Forcalquier

Oh La La! This place is special -- set in the heart of the French countryside between Forcalquier and Banon. If you are looking for a relaxing stay in Haute-Provence, look no further than Christine and Pascal’s charming cottage in Ongles. Christine and Pascal are warm and welcoming hosts. Our communication prior to our stay was timely and helpful. There is attention to detail at every turn and interaction – from providing a welcome (and delicious!) breakfast the morning after our late evening arrival, to sharing local points of interest and suggestions for excursions. The cottage is lovely and well furnished; perfect for our family of four (me, my husband, and two daughters – 11 and 13). The home feels wonderfully cozy (maybe it’s those thick stone walls that help keep it cool during summer months), but there’s also plenty of room to spread out for some quiet time after a long day exploring the area. My older daughter especially liked the cozy reading nook under the stairs. It was a little cool during our visit (mid-June), but the pool was always open when we woke each morning until after we went to bed in the evening. The countryside is gorgeous -- lush with lavender fields -- and there is plenty to see and enjoy within an hour’s drive – or simply by walking out onto the jasmine covered terrace (don't forget to inhale). I had an amazing stay here. This is a special place run by lovely owners, Christine and Pascal, who welcomed me like family. The rooms are spacious, clean and beautifully appointed. The bed was luxuriously comfortable. The pool and garden area is amazing and offers stunning views. The pastoral location is relaxing and quiet but close to a lot of the area's best attractions. You will want for nothing here.

Provence is the region, but it is also the welcome of this resident. This lovely couple have chosen to come to Provence and have tastefully renovated this collection of houses to make it a haven in the heart of the area with a magnificent view. Available, they offer beautiful individual houses or flats, large bedrooms, and a clean design. This is a must have. To be recommended! (The dog is also great!) ps.
