I stayed there with friends on a trip along the Franco-Italian border, arrived in Crévoux, checked in into Hôtel Parpaillon and from then on, it was total depression! The village to start with, feels like it has been abandoned. Children play on their own and there is nothing to do, not even a bar to get happy from the gloominess of the village. It is poorly maintained as well. The hotel...well...there is no soul! You get a room and that's it: bed, bathroom, empty walls, all the problems of degradation from years passing by. It looks like it was built in the 70's and they didn't spend a dime to improve or maintain a standard. The bedding is atrocious, you can't possibly find any charm there. Breakfast is OK. You get what you need let's say. Maybe the snow in the winter covers the ugliness of that village and it looks prettier. But in the summer, it's the Shining!||Food is actually good and that's why I didn't give it a 1* but it's very expensive for what they offer. Don't go starving because the portions are small.||I have never been to Chernobyl but I felt like I was in a town...

Read moreWe just spent 4 days out at the slopes in Crevoux and wow....great little village that offered some lovely slopes for skiing - beginners and hardcores alike. The hotel Le Parpaillon felt more like a home away from home with an absolutely breathtaking view of the mountains all around. The hotel's lovely restaurant was simple, inviting, attended by super-sympa local staff, and with absolutely delicious dinners at an affordable price. The entire stay was just precisely the way we had hoped: uber-comfortable and a great winter escape for a few days :) Many thanks to the fine and friendly staff at Le Parpaillon......à l'année...
