The ten, mostly wooden, houses of Chateau de Termes are grouped around two small pools, a mini tennis court and football area. In the mansion are the B&B rooms. We have not seen these rooms but one thing is very obvious; they have a wonderful view into the beautiful valley. The wooden houses with verandas are located under the trees, do not have a view and could be rather cool due to the fact that the sunlight is blocked by the forest. The wooden houses are brand new (some even still under construction). Nicely decorated and well equipped (small TV, fridge, freezer, stove, dishwasher, microwave (no oven). Also the pots, pans, serving dishes and glasses were of good quality. There was even a barbecue. The place is excellent for parents with young children. The young ones will enjoy the many sport facilities Chateau de Termes is offering (volley ball field, trampoline, etc.) and the place is safe and far away from traffic. Sophie and Pierre are warm and welcoming hosts, who give just that extra attention. Is there anything that they could improved? Yes. We really missed an internet connection in the wooden house (there is only WIFI in the B&B rooms). One other small thing is that we would have liked that (when you stay in a house on a one night rate of 135 euro) that some one checks if you need clean towels/toilet paper etc. It was not a problem to ask for it but still….The nice village Martel is 6 kilometres away and offers a big Intermarche, gas station, baker, etc (and a nice market on Wednesday and Saturday morning). The area is great for lovely day tours along the Dordogne river where you will enjoy beautiful villages, impressive fortresses and...
Read moreWe stayed at Chateau de Termes for four nights during our holiday in the South of France and we could have spent longer here as we had a wonderful experience and it was very reasonably priced for the quality of accommodation offered. Our hosts recommended places for us to see in the area and all spots were well worth a visit. Our room was exceptionally clean and beautifully presented with magical views of the valley below which we were also able to enjoy over breakfast on the sunny terrace. Our hosts were friendly, welcoming and a wealth of information. We would recommend this B&B to anyone who wants to experience staying in a true chateau in France, and will be telling our friends and family about it when we get back...
Read moreWe stayed here for only one night in August as we were travelling through the Lot enroute to Narbonne. The chateau is in a lovely setting. Facilities include a pool, go karts, table tennis etc.Lots for children to do. Friendly owners which included a welcome drink in the evening. We stayed in a room in the main house. The view from the wall to wall window over the valley has to be seen to be believed. More than adequate breakfast which can be taken on the veranda overlooking the valley. Lots of great towns and villages to explore. There is a good pizza restaurant in Martel, on the small roundabout a walk from the medieval centre. Recommended if you are looking for somewhere to stay in this...
