We stayed here during our 12-day Europe tour in the south of France, where we visited multiple places in Italy, Switzerland, Monaco, and, of course, France. Out of all the places we stayed, this had to be the best. The property was located in the scenic hills of the south of France, overlooking the beautiful city of Cannes and, in the distance, Nice. When we arrived, we were greeted by the most hospitable, gracious, and welcoming host I have ever met. Right off the bat, we knew this was going to be a magnificent stay. Following our check-in, the hostess went out of her way to give us a detailed list of nearby attractions and restaurants where we could dine for the night and therefore enjoy the first few hours of our stay there. Once it was time to go to bed, we were greeted by a luxury suite equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay, including a first-row view of the beautiful French landscape right in front of our window. The following day, we were woken up to the hostess graciously making us a full-sized French-style breakfast that included everything and more that we could have expected from a B&B. Of course, it was served on the balcony, where the view was to die for. Once we finished breakfast and were ready to explore the area, the hostess once again gave us a detailed list of things we could do in Nice, France, and surrounding tiny cities that looked right out of a storybook, including restaurants, places we could see, and even parking places. Upon our return from a magnificent day exploring the south of France, we were able to unwind and enjoy some beer provided by the hostess and obviously great wine that we got from our day in Nice, which, for a very good price, did not disappoint. Obviously, while having it, we were enjoying the night view of the scenic landscape with all the lights, the breeze, and the night sounds, which made it even better! The following day, we were once again woken up to the amazing breakfast made by our hostess, which we obviously greatly enjoyed. Sadly, it was time for us to leave, but this place definitely raised my bar on what to expect from a B&B. The location was super easy to get to, with Cannes, France, just a few minutes away by car. The view from the place (which I've already mentioned multiple times) was phenomenal, the property itself was equipped with everything we could ask for and even more, and last but certainly not least, the hostess, Gillian, made our stay there so beyond wonderful. She was so welcoming, always making sure we had everything we needed, and through it all with a big smile on her face. As someone who has stayed in many places, right after meeting her, you could tell she really cares about the people who stay there. Even though this place was perfect as it was, the quality of the service that naturally came from the hostess definitely makes this place 1000...
Read moreWe stayed at Villa Port d’attache B&B for 8 days during the Cannes Film Festival. We could not have been more pleased. The villa is about 10 minutes outside Cannes, so you need a car. The drive through the hills seems at first overwhelming, but we quickly were zipping up and down the hill and delighting at the distance and seclusion it offered us from the bustle of the Festival. ||The villa nestled high on the hill delivers spectacular views of the valley below, all the way to the ocean and to the mountains that separate France and Italy. On a clear day you see all the way to the Alps. Trees, flowers, chirping birds, roosters in the distance, you feel as though you are in a remote paradise, yet you are just a few minutes from it all. We slept each night with the windows thrown open to the night sky and glimmer of lights in the towns below. ||There were other guests, but honestly, the impression is that you have the whole place to yourself. ||We started each day with breakfast on a garden patio overlooking this wonderful view, or on the balcony patio off the living room every bit as inviting. The owners Gillian and her husband served variations of fresh fruit and cheeses, croissants and baguette, yogurt and new baked deserts from recipes that Gillian delighted in sharing with us. Gillian and her husband are gracious hosts, enthusiastically sending us off to dinner each night for world class meals in ancient mountaintop strongholds, where the wine flowed and you could almost hear the footsteps of those who walked there a thousand years ago. When we needed help to get our COVID test on a Sunday, Gillian found the only open pharmacy, and arranged for our test. ||The rooms are charming and handsomely designed and appointed, modern, but comfortable, impeccably clean. Her warm personality is beautifully expressed in every detail in the room from fixtures to art, every need is anticipated. This is a first-class B&B that runs like a Swiss watch, everything clean and bright, the gardens groomed and inviting. My wife and I have traveled many places in the world, but this is one has left an indelible imprint on us, and to which we...
