Before I get started I realize that we visited this Chambre D'Hotes in the cold season, and that a summer visit might very well be of a different character. BUT, if you are open - you are open. When booking this one night stay, I specifically mentioned that we wanted to come to a room that was heated! They wrote back that it wouldn't be a problem. The room would of course be heated. When arriving a dark evening in November we were first invited into the living room of the owners. A nice and warm room with a wood burning stove roaring. We were treated a beer and a chat. Very cosy. Then we were shown to our room and realized why we were indeed guided into the living room first. The room was very cold indeed. A electric heater was running but it never managed to do much over the night. I asked why the radiators weren't on, and was told they only turned them on when the temperature was below freezing! We realized that it would be a hassle to try and find another place in the evening at this remote place. We went down for the Table D'Hotes and arrived in a similar cold dining room, with a little heater blowing. The food was only ok. If you look at their homepage it seems like the main interest is cooking! Think again. I asked how they themselves could cope with this temperature in the house, and the answer was that it was quite ok for them. BUT, in their living room there was a roaring fire burning. And they admitted they had a heated blanket in their bed! (We didn't) When you choose to open a Chambre D'Hotes in the cold season you simply cannot threat your guests this inconsiderate. We payed 95 euros for the room only, which by the way was the most expensive of the journey, so I believe we also had payed for some heating. As I mentioned in the beginning, I realize it might be different in summer. But I doubt it (Except for the temperature of course) When you are this inconsiderate in the winter, why would it be...

Read moreWe visited Dominique and Fred as our Gite booked via Booking.com was double booked! Our arrival was last minute and Dominique and Fred couldn’t have done any more to make us feel welcome and relaxed upon arrival! They made everything perfect for us and soothed our frazzled nerves after the debacle with the double booking! We had a wonderful stay with them in their beautiful home and enjoyed excellent meals and great company with them and their other guests. Dominique also made my vegetarian request into scrumptious meals each evening. We feel very fortunate to have found these lovely people and their lovely chamber d’hote and cannot thank them enough for their kindness, hospitality and welcome, thank you Dominique and Fred from...
