Stayed here for 3 nights to visit LaRochelle. Just 15 minutes direct drive to the centre, and in quiet countryside it was ideal.||A lovely warm welcome from Yann the owner, who put up with my poor french and helped out with his excellent English.||The house is lovely, built on the site of an old abbey.||Our large room had an African theme , beautifully decorated with a nice en suite. It had a vast comfortable bed, and a couple of armchairs.||I had a chance to look at all the other rooms, all individually decorated and beautiful.||Breakfast was taken around a huge communal table and was excellent. The swimming pool and garden are very nice and beautiful and well maintained. Every morning there is a very good breakfast with homemade items. The location is perfect for visiting la Rochelle and region. It's only a 15 minute drive to the harbour of la Rochelle. There is an industrial park nearby but you don't hear or see anything from it. The bathroom in our room was rather small that was the only downside for us. I would definitely come back to this...
