La Chartreuse Des Eyres, Chambres d'hotes, Salle de réception — Hotel in Langon

We looked for a place to stay just for one night, to relax and have a change of scenery, somewhere where we could take our calm, friendly dog. We found the ideal spot here.||It was a record not day, with temps in the high 30s, and the owner, Valerie, kindly upgraded us to a suite, that would be cooler for us and the dog. We had a huge room and a bathroom with both an Italian shower and a jacuzzi. The garden was quite extensive for a house in town, with plenty of room, paths and lawn for our dog to play on and where she became friends with the resident cat. Valerie served us an aperitif outside before we went out for a delicious dinner and a tasty continental breakfast in the morning. Staying at "La Chartreuse Des Eyres" was one of the highlights of our trip. The "petit chateau" was very beautifully renovated mixing modern and classic styles. Stepping through the gate instantly took us into a fairy-tale with the impressive facade of the building and the beautiful gardens.||The hostess, Valerie, was super nice and helpful. Even though they were busy preparing for a wedding the next day, she took the time to show us around the property and made sure we had everything for a pleasant stay. place is just fine if you look for something that somehow recalls the typical local atmosphere of a chateau... Too bad that it is all quite "fake" compared to some very nice chateaux you can find in the surroundings. The rooms are clean and new, but definetly overpriced for what is given. We paid 115 euro cash-no receipt- for a Double room (and we could not even pay with credit card!!! Because they just opened.... As if this can be a good reason for not having a credit card machine...). We personally did not like the "kitch touch" of some details (i.e. the black carpet, the "made in china" crystal lamps, etc etc...). But I guess it can also be an individual...
