I think we've found our perfect campsite 😊 We booked a pitch with private facilities which was well worth the extra cost. However, we were asked to pay extra for electricity on arrival. When I pointed out the website implies this is included, they waived that cost. The shared facilities looked good too, clean, and HURRAH, separate toilets and showers for men and women. You can order breakfast bread and pastries from reception. The pain au raisin is the best I've ever tasted. The on-site restaurant was also excellent and good value. As it's the gateway to the Champagne region, well, you do have to celebrate with a glass or two of the world's most famous bubbly there. Langres is well worth a visit. There's vehicle parking below the town and it's within a short cycling distance. If you do cycle, be ready for the steep hill though. There's loads to do for children and adults at the campsite and the lake. We didn't have time to cycle around the lake but that looked very pleasant. On the Saturday night, a drunk man turned up opposite our pitch. He didn't have a tent and was playing very loud music. We think he may have tailgated another car in. We were very impressed with the way the young woman from the restaurant dealt with it when I alerted her (reception was closed) and he...
Read moreNot sure we would return to camp here as was noisy and a lot of pitches were smaller than advertised.|Originally given a pitch 7m x 8m when we booked a pitch min of 90m2. Got told that was all they had then when I said we'd struggle to fit our tent there we were told the only option was a pitch they give people with oversized motor homes. Upon looking at it we realised our electrics wouldn't reach the electric point so asked for an extension (which our previous french site gave us without asking) I was offered an indoor extension which was obviously not designed to be outside with cars driving over it or getting wet. I pointed out the fact that it was dangerous and could go on fire if it rained so was told to put a plastic bag over it!|I said that wasn't acceptable and was told that was all they had otherwise they could give us a pitch but only for 9 nights when we had booked 11. |I asked if they had a chalet we could use for the last 2 nights and eventually were given that.|The chalet was lovely but meant we lost a lot of the day as had to pack up and move. The ground at the pitch was the hardest we've had as it took 1hr to remove the pegs...
Read moreWe spent 2 nights here and booked a pitch with private sanitary facility. It was one building but split in half for 2 pitches. The shower, toilet and sink area were very spacious and clean. There was also a big sink in front of the building to wash dishes. We had a pitch with a view of Langres and was across from the Kenyan tents. We were so curious about the Kenyan tents and asked if we could look inside one. We were given the keys and could look in at our own leisure. These tents are glamping tents with everything you need. We will definitely book one next time.
