Liked: Great position with ocean views

Disliked: Oh dear !! The campsite is well over due a bit of care and attention and looks very shabby. The photos of neat grass and hedges are far from the truth. I got stung by overgrown nettles surrounding the electric hook up, there are nettles in various areas meaning you couldn’t walk around bare foot or sandals without dodging nettles. The hedges and grass are very overgrown, the hedges either side of the path leading to the toilet block are overgrown so you have to walk sideways to walk up the path, if it has been raining you have to brush your clothes up against the wet hedges to get past. The general appearance of the whole site is very run down which is such a shame as is could be lovely with not a great deal of effort. The toilets block is very run down with bins adjacent the WC unemptied over the 2 and a half days we were there, my wife refused to use it, thankfully we had our own facilities. The website states twin-axle vehicles accepted, I doubt this would be possible. We had booked for 7 nights but left after 2 nights. I tend not to do reviews but felt driven to comment...

Disliked: The facilities are awful , the worst I have ever encountered! The toilet doors were a wall of flies like something from a horror movie when I managed to get to the handle and open the toilets were filthy with no clean toilet paper and bins overflowing with used toilet paper, hence the flies! I didn't even risk looking at the showers. The electric didn't work , probably because the connection was left lying in wet grass with a plastic bag for protection. None of the pitches are flat. The huge industrial bins as you enter the campsite we're also overflowing with rubbish and surrounded by wasps and flies. There was no-one there to meet you. We stayed for less than 10min. I complained to pitch up and they said that they are just agents and relay on their customers looking at feedback to decide on whether to book the site . I have never left a review for anything but felt the need on this occasion to prevent people having to book an alternative site like we did...

Liked: This site is in a beautiful and peaceful location. The pictures on the Pitch-up website show neatly cut pitches and hedges, some with beautiful sea views, however in reality the pitches and hedges are starting to become overgrown and in some places are obscuring the lovely sea views. Attention to detail with a hedge trimmer and strimmer will make all the difference enabling more space on the pitches. The electric points are becoming hidden in the foliage and ours was difficult to find on pitch 9. The showers and toilets are kept clean and there is a fridge and microwave for use. We enjoyed our stay and we would definitely consider returning if we could be sure that pitches and hedges are maintained and trimmed. The longer they are left unattended, the more unmanageable and overgrown the site will become but can be easily rectified. Then would...
