This is my second stay at Camping De La Pointe. My first stay was 3 years ago for a couple of nights after a large road trip down to the south of France. This time it was only for 1 night.|I'm glad to say the campsite hasn't changed.||It's situated out in a village, so don't expect to find a large supermarket or loads of restaurants!||Its a great peaceful campsite - no screaming kids running around at 11pm. I think there is maybe about 30 pitches total including room for camper vans, and they have a couple of onsite "bungalows".||The toilet and shower areas are probably one of the best I've come across on my road trips through France, Switzerland and Italy. They have ALWAYS been immaculate and spotless.||The swimming pool is just right for a quick cool down, and even long enough to get a few lengths in if required.||There is an onsite restaurant / bar (it doesn't open every night - so do double check). Last time I had a great steak meal dinner and it was great and decent price.||Bread can be ordered for the next morning too, and you can buy some drinks / water from the little reception area.||Electricity is available on all pitches if you require it.||Overall, a great stay whether you are camping in a tent or coming in a camper (No large campervans and motorhomes are allowed).||Don't forget to visit Reims town either, along with the old F1 start straight in Gueux with the restored pit garages etc, and the WW1 Fort de la Pompelle.||Great little campsite - highly...
Read moreVery family friendly site with restaurant and swimming pool. Grass pitches separated by box hedges. The facilities block is modern and very clean with plenty of hot water and the showers are excellent. The pool is under cover and also has a spa tub. There is a small play area for younger children with a trampoline and a boules court next to the pool. Reception is run by the owners who also run the restaurant - reception closes at 18.30 as they then start work in the restaurant. There is free WiFi, but it is not site wide and is only available next to reception. The restaurant offers a good selection of pizzas and also has a specials board with a small choice of meat and fish dishes. The owners are very friendly and helpful and, as you would expect you can order bread in the evening for collection the following morning. The site is adjacent to the main road and there may be disturbance when the farmers are harvesting and bringing crops in, but the road is normally quiet. This is a lovely place to visit, very relaxed, but with excellent,...
Read moreWhat an absolute gem of a campsite! The owners Geoffrey and Celine were so so friendly and have worked so hard to make this campsite neat and tidy and with lovely facilities. And it was incredibly welcoming. Sanitary block was new last Winter and is cleaned regularly through the day. Swimming pool fabulous- and heated perfectly. Lovely large pitches some with hard standing. The restaurant was a fabulous added bonus- fantastic home cooked food. When you see the campsite owner washing out the wheelie bins on collection day, you know you have found somewhere where the owners take real pride in their campsite! We wish them well as they continue to make improvements- they have a real vision for what they want to achieve. A couple of ideas which may help- a bin and an outside light at the washing up place would be useful. But these are just our thoughts for little things to add to the facilities. 12 night stay- totally recommended! We will...
