Haunted but very different, we stayed for 2 nights, on the first night we had no issues albeit a very old building and you can expect a few old things like dodgy plug sockets a squeaky floors. However, the second day was a little strange, when I went to use the toilet while the children and my partner enjoyed the pool (which was great), I sat on the toilet and saw a shadow pass behind the door from the other side. I thought it was a cloud or something but that night my partner woke me up saying she heard the door handle be tried on the room, I woke and we both heard foot steps like barefooted in the apartment corridor. Thinking it was my children I called out thinking it was the children using the loo, I got up to check and they were all fast asleep... I can't explain it but following that the bathroom door rattled, there was no wind which may account for this and it happened again. It was a very long night! ||||Phillipe was really nice however and made us very welcome, I didn't say anything about the weird stuff at the time but what can you say...? At the top of the stairs is a photograph of 2 young children, an unusual picture to display, I had it in my head they were at play, ||||Having said all this, my partner wants to stay again! She loves it, the spooky bit adds to her desire to go back... I...
Read moreThis is a place with a lot of character! A very atmospheric castle with well-functioning kitchen appliances, a coffee machine, a large LED TV and a very comfortable shower room with good pressure and simple adjustments.||Beautiful and very large backyard, with a huge old tree, neatly trimmed lawn, swimming pool and sunbeds which we could use already in late April. Also, there are swings for children and a trampoline, which they love a lot. There is a plenty of space for car parking and it is free. A very calm and quiet place where you can only hear the birds singing in the morning.||I can recommend a very friendly owner Philippe, who speaks English fluently and provided help, advice and a great support on all questions you can have.||This hotel is located in the heart of Normandy, close to shops and the beach of Le Havre. There are many attractions worth visiting in the surrounding area: Wallace Abbey, Honfleur, Etretat, etc.||Thus, staying for a long time, there is always...
Read moreWe were initially charmed by the rustic appeal of the chateau and appreciated the owner's upgrade to our room. However, our stay was disappointing due to several issues. We booked the room specifically for the pool, bunk beds, and Wi-Fi, but the Wi-Fi was non-functional and the pool was being retiled. Despite the owner's assurance that the pool would be ready the next day, it remained unusable throughout our two-night stay. Additionally, for six people, we were given only half a roll of toilet paper for the entire stay, and there was no restocking or housekeeping service. It would have been considerate if the owner had informed us in advance about the ongoing issues, allowing us to reconsider or cancel our non-refundable booking. While hesitant to leave a review due to the owner's history of criticizing and dismissing feedback, we felt it necessary to share our experience for...
