This is my first time in Paris for a number of years and I tried to pick a Marriott location that had affordable pricing and good location for my meetings throughout the city. I picked the AC Marriott Le Bourget.
On arrival at Charles de Gaulle I was surprised that the taxi driver did not know of this hotel even though it was located at a reasonably predominate airport facility. It seems all taxi drivers now use GPS to find locations as opposed to inherent knowledge. Every time I had to use a taxi in Paris and give the AC Hotel as a destination there was confusion. Perhaps the address, 2 Rue De La Haye, is such a small street you might consider getting the address changed to the main thoroughfare beside the hotel.
Food and beverage. The food is outstanding.
Beverages, not necessarily. My first evening I ordered a martini cocktail only to be provided with a splash of vermouth (yes, the Martini Brand) and a twist of lemon. I was too tired to discuss the issue and simply accepted the cocktail.
The second night, I ordered the same beverage but made sure to discuss with the young man the appropriate contents of the cocktail. He assured me he gave me a martini the night before and we clearly identified the bottle from which it came which, as suspected, was a vermouth bottle. I shared with him to make the cocktail you take one and a half ounces of gin and a drop of dry vermouth and that would be satisfactory. There was a young lady behind the bar, who spoke to him in French, possibly advising him on the correct methodology as well. I suspected she was his supervisor. That evening, the cocktail was perfect as well as the food.
On the third night, I ordered the same beverage from the young lady mentioned assuming nothing but success. I was provided with a tumbler half-full with a lime, some gin and what seemed to be lots of water.
Really frustrating to go to a world-class chain, pay €13 for a cocktail each night and have it wrong two out of three times. I travel a lot and suspected this would happen in a place like Dubai (after many trips there, I have now managed to create an excellent relationship with the restaurant staff who know exactly how to make a martini cocktail now....)
On the two mornings I had breakfast at the hotel, the staff were wonderful, but the organization was pure chaos. There was a large group of Chinese travellers who consumed the facility and everything that was available to be...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the AC Hotel, where my experience surpassed expectations. The rooms were not only modern but also spacious, with notably comfortable beds. The well-appointed amenities included an impressive shower, along with complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. The in-room entertainment, featuring a great TV, added to the overall satisfaction.
The hotel's strategic location offered serene views of the airport without the disruption of plane noise, ensuring undisturbed nights. Despite being situated outside the bustling city center of Paris, the convenience of the 152 bus, departing just across the road, provided direct access to a main station. Personally, the peaceful ambiance of the hotel was a welcomed retreat from the urban clamor.
The facilities, such as the well-maintained gym and the reservation-required Hamam, further contributed to a rejuvenating stay. The buffet-style breakfast was a standout, boasting a diverse selection catering to various preferences. Regrettably, the rooftop bar was closed during my stay from Thursday to Sunday, with uncertainty about seasonal closures.
I must express my sincere appreciation to the exceptional staff, particularly Audrey and Louise. Their exemplary customer service, marked by prompt responses to my inquiries and assistance with various matters, significantly enhanced my overall experience. Their outstanding contributions undoubtedly cast a positive light on the AC Hotel. To the manager, if reading this, I strongly advocate recognizing Audrey and Louise for their exceptional efforts, perhaps through a well-deserved pay rise. Their commitment to providing outstanding customer service deserves acknowledgment and serves as a testament to the hotel's dedication to guest satisfaction.
In conclusion, my stay at the AC Hotel was nothing short of delightful, prompting an affirmative response to the question of returning. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to friends and family, emphasizing the combination of excellent facilities, a tranquil location, and exceptional customer service, making it a...
Read moreNot recommended. They have the restaurant's kitchen open during covid-19 restrictions but they will not deliver the food to the room (even though there were like 5 guests in the entire building). The bathroom door has no lock, and even worse, it opens by itself, making it impossible to keep it shut (not ideal for a 2 people room). They offer you 4 coffee capsules and tea, but only 2 single-use paper cups. Want to stir your sugar? use your finger because there's not a single thing to do that either. And hey, is it too much to ask to have the coffee machine and water kettle plugged simultaneously with a power strip? The only thing remarkable about the room is how unremarkable it was. Or perhaps that it had the tiniest single window I have ever seen in a hotel. Or perhaps how their most expensive rooms are physically identical to their cheapest ones. Did I mention the crying baby in the pool? well I guess that's not the hotel's fault, although I didn't know this was a "family oriented" hotel. The food was great, at least. Please clean the back of the bed: It's not obvious seeing it directly but when the light reflects on the back panels a whole bunch of droplet stains are visible, which is pretty disgusting considering it's a bed. All in all, unless you are stuck in this airport, it is definitely not worth it. The only reason we ended up there was the pool, but with the baby and the (low) temperature, we didn't even stay 15min. To end on a positive note, the staff was very good, perhaps even excellent if they cared to notice the small details that make a stay way more polished...
