On arrival, the hotel had lost our booking (4 people for 5 days), which, had we seen the rooms, we would have taken as the perfect opportunity to run a mile. Regrettably, however, we spent nearly an hour waiting while the receptionist tried to rebook everyone. ||||Rooms are basic with a bunk bed, sink, little table & chair and a TV. The mattress is about 5cm thin, the bedding was torn with burn marks. ||||The unisex toilets and showers are on the corridor and cleaned at around 2am. You can only imagine what hideous state they are in by 8-9 am. I am convinced that the sinks in the room are used for more than just brushing of teeth..||||You have to buy your own towel for 3 Euros. Excellently, you have a choice of 4 colours.||||There are 3 floors, I think only the top floor is non-smoking, but the whole place smells of smoke. It is noisy, you can hear the people next door and there is traffic noise from outside.||||The staff is disinterested and aloof.||||Breakfast consists of baguette and jam, which you can enjoy in the cramped reception room. Thankfully, the Ibis next door offers a really nice breakfast buffet for 10 Euros. We also had dinner there every night, as there is nothing else in walking distance.||||Villepinte Expo train station is a brisk 15 minute walk away, when the underpass to the exhibition complex is open. ||||In summary, if you are used to staying in a tent, then this motel will be a step up. If you want a clean, cosy and friendly hotel, then avoid at all costs. Please don't stay...
Read moreOn arrival, I have to say that the young man at reception was very helpful and friendly. He immediately honoured my request for a ground floor room, but had I realised it was a smoking room (despite the no smoking sign on the door) we would have reconsidered as the room absolutely stank of stale smoke. ||I don't think we would have noticed the difference of our bed had had no mattress at all, as it is so thin that it's like trying to sleep on a plank of wood. Extremely uncomfortable. ||The room was dirty, as if it had never been cleaned. The first bathroom my wife went in had actual human poo smeared on the wall, and the others had obviously not been cleaned recently. ||We were disappointed that we had to make up the bunk bed ourselves, even though we had booked for three people. ||The night manager woke us by knocking on the window at 2am to tell us (although he spoke no English, we got the message) that someone could reach in and steal our things if we didn't close it, so we did consider that helpful. ||The outside lawn is covered in cigarette butts and general litter. ||Overall, the place needs far more thorough and regular cleaning and better mattresses. I realise it's a cheap place to stay, but a comfortable bed in a clean room is surely a basic and minimum requirement. We wouldn't stay here again, or in fact at any F1 as even at the clean ones the mattresses are too thin. We'll stick with Premiere Classe or Ibis Budget, where you get better beds, a cleaner hotel and your...
Read moreOriginally booked 2 rooms for 3 people. When we arrived the group on infront were being told that their pre-paid stay did not exist and they were forced to pay for a second time to check in. This was through booking.com||I had made our booking directly through the parent company. We were then told only 1 room of 2 could accommodate 3 people and that all other 3 people rooms were sold out. The receptionist was insistent that I have booked the second room for 2. However my company letter headed confirmation clearly showed I was correct. The solution? Forced to purchase a third room on the day. ||It seems that this may well be a strategy to sell empty rooms. ||The key pad entry system to rooms seems to work by chance. The shared shower and toilets are filthy. You cannot wash your hands in the toilets and have to return to you room to do so. ||Had check in not take over an hour to resolve and had the receptionist not been as rude and ignorant as she was the perhaps this place would be worth 2 stars but basic plus unhygienic plus poor customer service plus a potential scam mean the lowest score possible. ||Also the place is surrounded by fences like a prison with security of a night. That can be seen as a positive in one way or on another you ask why such...
