Hôtel Le Jardin — Hotel in Lens

Stayed a night at this hotel when our car broke down near Arras.

I expected just a nights sleep but the servants at this hotel/pub are exceptionally nice, so nice that I decided to write my first review.

The hotel has a bar next to it which is basically in the same building, the bar was supposed to close around 10 p.m. but the servant happily served us beer till 11 p.m.

We had plans to go a pub in the city but remained inside the pub of the hotel because of the cozyness.

The owner/servant of the hotel speaks mostly French but can understand some English/German/Arabic, but is very eager to learn some other languages when you speak with her.

People are expected to get up around 10 a.m. in the morning, I got up around 10:15 and got served one of the best cups of coffee at the bar that I have ever drank, they don't give you much of a hassle if you break their rules if you are nice to them.

We had a 2 seperate beds room (room number 4) which was very clean, the beds were comfortable although the showerhead was a bit in a state of disrepair, it functioned properly so no complaints from that.

The location of the hotel is good considering it's near the center of the city.

Parking possibilities were mediocre but that seems to be improved in the near future due to the addition of a parking centre in front of the hotel.

Long story short, our vacation turned sour due to a broken car, but the people who work at this hotel completely turned it around and made it a pleasant experience.

I recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a stay around the center of Lens, the price/quality ratio is absolutely brilliant.

Patronne sympa mais je soupçonne que c’est une parade pour masquer l’etat Désastreux de l’hotel. Je suis rentrée dans la chambre les lampes n’etaient Pas branchees, les cadre au dessus de ma tête d’en lit étaient collés tels un cache misère pour dissimuler la moisissure et l’humidité, le papier est décollé, ma fenêtre donnait sur une Cours bruyante et sans intimité j’ai dû gardé les rideaux fermes car mon voisin de palier fumait à la fenêtre et pouvait voire tout ce qu’il se passait dans ma chambre. La salle de bain etait nul et pas jolie il n’y avait que de l’eau Chaude j’ai dû attendre l’eau froide au petit matin donc difficile de se laver le visage avec de l’eau bouillante !!! Quand on prend une douche il n’ya Qu’un vilain rideau de douche qui pour moi est un manques d’hygiène on accepte ça chez soi dans un studio à louer mais pas dans un hôtel ! En prenant une douche m’eau a débordée jusque là chambres. On entendait tout ce qui se passait dans le couloir dont les discussions mon voisins est resté 1h à parler dans le couloir c’etait Vraiment penible 😬. Le petit déjeuner bien troppp cherrrrr un morceau de baguette et deux viennoiserie en promo du commerce pas du tout sexy un cafe bouillant. Je déconseille fortement malgré l’accueil de la patronne ... je ne fais pas la charité je paie et demande un service à la hauteur en retour. J’ai failli fuir après 20min mais plus aucun hôtel disponible ..... désolé pour le pavé mais là fallait...

Following a long journey and a nightmare on the M25,we arrived at the hotel late. However,a fabulous reception from the hotel owner and a warm welcome made the journey a distant memory.
