Excellent campsite, we stayed in the Cottage Lagon with Spa and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The accommodation was near the lagoon which was peaceful in the evening, as the entertainment goes on until late.. as it should! Although this did mean a slight walk to the main area. The waterpark is brilliant, heated pools a big plus. The river rapids are fun and refreshing. The staff are all friendly and helpful, in particular at the Casino Shop and also the restaurant which we used several times over the two weeks. Staff very attentive. The nearest beach is a 10 min walk opposite the campsite and has a small beach bar adjourned to the water fun facility which hires boards/boats etc. There are endless beaches to explore. We hired bikes and a kids trailer to make it easier to get around, there is a shop just outside the site if you can't get one from the campsite itself. Area wise this was our first visit to the Vendée. It's a flatter than normal landscape which means it attracts a breeze which is welcome with the warm weather, although it does lack scenery if you are used to Brittany or the Riviera. The beaches up in Tranche sur Mer are very nice, with a few more facilities on offer compared with du jard or La griere. Locally it's a walk to La Griere in about 15 mins, or 30/40 min to Tranche Sur Mer. However there is a free bus through high season (A or N1) which you can use to get between places. It runs regularly and until late hours (just before midnight is the last return). I'd recommend the Cabane restarraunt which is close to the campsite and also La Torride Sierre which is a nice pizza place. Pizza Rico was also very very nice in Tranche Sur Mer and had a more expansive menu. The lasagna was awesome. There's ample places to eat/drink. Destinations wise.. Puy du Fou is recommended as a must do. It's phenomenal. About 40 min drive. Viking show is immense. Also the local waterpark O Gliss is very good, heated pools and fantastic slides. There is also a good kids attraction called Château de Aventuriers which features a haunted escape room and also a pirate and dinosaur adventures, as well as a fun Château experience. Other than that La Rochelle is worth a visit, and of course ile de re which is more like your typical French desination compared with the majority of the Vendée which is a bit more traditional seaside tourism.

We stayed for 2 weeks with Yelloh in the 2 bed mobiles with the hot tubs. The check in was very smooth with staff helping without even getting out of the car. Quite the drive to our mobile #631 along a very busy road with both cars and pedestrians. This road I feel is very dangerous and a better solution needs to be devised. There is a pedestrian route down but it seems most people either are not aware or don’t use it. When your either walking or driving it’s minefield and feel it’s only a matter of time before an accident will happen. All the yelloh villages owned mobiles are nice and modern in a lovely planted area. The ones owned by eurocamp and homair look very crowded and dated. I would not advise staying with them personally. The pool is pretty good I must say plenty to do and decent space overall I couldn’t fault this. The one site shop is decent with friendly staff. The bar setup was good but the mix of when it was table service only vs order at the bar was confusing. Drinks were reasonable and ok. The playground is right in front as well as bouncy castles which meant my wife and I could enjoy a drink while the kids played. The playground is pretty good. The secondary playground is really rubbish down in the depths of the neglected eurocamp/homair section. The on site restaurant is only ok. I wouldn’t be eating there more than once. Equally the takeaway is very mediocre. I should say the wifi on the site is AWFUL. Luckily we got it included with our stay because the cost to buy was extortionate and the speeds made it unusable.., we are talking 56k modem dial up speeds if it worked at all.... truly bad... I bought an additional esim for 50gigs on 5g that was cheaper then one week of wifi and about 600x faster... DO NOT PAY FOR THE WIFI. Overall the site is good but has some fixes needed.

Very nice campsite, we were there from 16-23 June when it was quiet. Pool area is great, especially the lazy river which is good fun. 5km cycle to town. We were in a new mobile which was lovely and clean on arrival. Good value for the week. The campsite restaurant was new and food not bad for a campsite. A lot of mosquitoes because of the water. Lovely birdsong in the mornings. Negative points Don't waste money renting a barbecue, the one we rented in advance and were given was very old, rusty, and would cost €20 new in Lidl. We tried to cook on it but coals kept falling through so wasted about €30. I complained when I left it back but no-one was interested. Suggestion to team: buy proper gas barbecues instead e.g. Cadac which would be much more suitable (and less dangerous) than the plug in electric outdoor grill which gives no heat for cooking. Or buy a Basque plancha. My wife's purse with her debit card and some cash was stolen, most likely from her bag at the campsite restaurant or from the outside table of the mobile, and was used at 6.58am the next morning in a local business. We emailed the campsite regarding this matter, as well as mentioning a man who was taking photos everywhere in the campsite including people at the pools using a high quality long lens which seemed very odd, but never received any response.

This is our first family camping trip to France. |We have a 2 year old and a 6 year old.||We stayed in the most budget accommodation, the cottages de foret. ||Despite this the quality was far better than I expected.||A special mention to the ice cream parlour. Incredible quality and value! Staff definitely hired for their looks rather than their ability to process ice cream orders quickly and accurately BUT, none the less a daily highlight. Brilliant.||The entertainment is very “fast show” but this is to be expected. Kids staff and band excellent. ||The Yelloh! Staff were amazing both pre and post arrival, nothing is too much trouble. ||The pool area is kids heaven. This may be a french thing but you can jump, bomb , dive in , do what you like just , for goodness sake, don’t give your two year old a biscuit! No eating or drinking of anything around the pool. I cant help but think if they had a pool bar serving drinks in plastic cups they would make thousands a day. |Just a few points of note||1: Even in August , this is mid france so you never know what you ate going to get weather wise. We knew we were rolling the dice here, in order to beat the heat and sleep, go to bed late and get up late . The cheaper accommodation has no air con . You can hire a fan for 20 euro a week, bring your own. NB in the cheapest accommodation there are no plug sockets in two of the bedrooms. Bring a four way extension lead to charge devices. The Weather fluctuated between 16 degrees and raining to 36 degrees and scorchio. ||2: The wifi only covers one device, to add another it is 24 euro a week||3: Coffee 3 euros , small beer is 4.20 euros, baguette in casino market (on site) 1.10 euros, croissant etc 1.20 euro. Shop has all you need. Slightly pricey but what do you expect for an onsite shop. There is a super U 7 mins drive away||4: The onsite restaurant is very standard fare, pizza , chips , burger, steak tartare ( don’t recommend, I usually love this but it made me ill) . Pizza great. Bar staff brilliant, friendly and attentive.||5:The onsite Yello! Staff are amazing. They couldn’t do more to help you both before| and...
