camping the summer nest — Hotel in Les Sables-d'Olonne

We stayed here for the first time for two weeks camping in our own tent.||The pitch was well positioned and between some truly lovely ‘owner families’ (as some cabins are privately owned) it was just big enough for our large 6man tent and a nice area for outdoor dining, sitting and line drying etc. Only criticism was the very nosy main road behind us, however seeing the site I would rather that than the much busier parts of the site. |Bathroom facilities - these were ok, I would say the least modern we’ve been to in many a year and they would be better if cleaned/toilet roll replaced more regularly. As a camper it would’ve been good to have some emergency lighting over night for when the children or us needed the loo, all lights go off after 10pm. |Laundrette - some amazing old ‘scrubbing sinks’ fantastic for small amounts but way more washing machines needed. The entire time we were there only 2 of 5 were working and always queues to use which made it difficult for a camping family trying to pack lightly! |Swimming pools/slides- these were brilliant and the new lazy river pool was beautiful to look at. However some days it was so cramped by mass amounts of people. No way enough sun beds/chairs but space for more especially around the original pool. I would say the original pool seemed more neglected and just needed some simple weeding doing and tidying up. This certainly didn’t spoil our fun though and we did always manage to get somewhere to pop our things at some point over the day/evening! |Restaurant/snack bar-lovely food and no complaints except the cost of the frites…rather crazy but didn’t put us off going lots! |Shop- being honest rather useless, very lacking (not like photos) my partner giggled they had brought back rations…for bread/pain au chocs etc you had to order the evening before but with quite restricted hours it was all a bit tricky AND crazy over priced for everything…especially as super U and locals bakery’s etc are close enough (just tricky on your first evening after setting up camp) |Staff- this is the best bit of the site…they were all (in the end) fantastic 🤩 Special calls outs to Bilou (Adam) for his enthusiastic inclusiveness of us the only English family…he was just so wonderful and tried so hard to include us in everything! Also Luna she was so friendly and kind and their amazing English speaking helped us lots. Many other staff including fredricka’s daughter who helped us upon arrival honestly couldn’t have done more for us. The bar staff were all great and forgave (in the end) our broke. French. The swimming staff were fantastic and had to deal with some very fiesty customers and did so really well. The entertainment was great fun, mainly aimed at the French market but we loved that as why not, it’s France. |Overall a truly wonderful holiday, a great position for access to many other lovely areas/events to do and we would certainly go again..now with more knowledge to work round some of the shortcomings. |Thank you Aloa for a lovely...

Nous avons séjourné dans ce camping début août, et dès notre arrivée nous étions déjà partagés … Accueillis par un " agent de sécurité " qui peine à parler correctement nous demandant qu’une seule personne de la famille rentre à l’accueil pour les formalités d’entrée, alors que d’autres familles y étaient ensembles … bref, ensuite accueil très correct avec petits cadeaux et explications sur l’emplacement.. Nous avions choisi un mobil homme habana. Emplacement correct malheureusement bordé par une route très passante où les véhicules circulent très rapidement ce qui faisait trembler le mobilhomme par moments .. mise à part des taches très suspectes sur la couette nous n’avons rien de négatif à signaler mais plutôt du positif ce dernier étant propre dans l’ensemble et conforme à la description. Le soir même nous avons décidé de faire un petit tour du camping avant d’aller à la soirée histoire de s’imprégner des lieux .. un conseil ne le faites pas … aucune lumière dans les chemins !!! Seuls nos flashs de téléphones éclairaient nos pas !! Une fois devant l’aire de jeux à côté de l’accueil nous avions été criés par un autre " agent de sécurité " / incendie , comme des "moins que rien " car on avait rien à faire là alors que nous étions juste devant les barrières et n’avons même pas cherché à y pénétré sachant que l’heure était dépassée et le tout sans un bonjour ou autre de toute manière je pense que ce dernier ne sait pas ce que c’est !!! Les soirées … un désastre.. salle bondée et musiques de banlieue archi entendues, ambiance malaisante, aucun respect … toute la semaine de toute façon nous n’en avons fait aucune après avoir vu la première !! Le seul gros point positif : le bar !! Personnel très accueillant souriant motivé et avec de bons cocktails à prix raisonnables ! Pour ce qui est des espaces aquatiques, nous avons également été déçus.. ( encore !) ces derniers sont séparés ! Il faut traverser tout le camping pour y accéder chose à laquelle nous n’avions pas été prévenus de plus le liner se décolle complètement ce qui a la longue forme des grosses bulles que l’on ne voit pas et qui peuvent causer des accidents ! Piscines malheureusement surpeuplées, avec beaucoup de "déchets" morceaux de rajouts de cheveux à gogo jusqu’à des excréments " pas étonnant aux vues de la fréquentation… !!! Là aussi une seule personne polie et sympathique le chef des bassins le reste … 0 sans parler du pion aux nouveaux toboggans qui a l’heure actuelle doit encore se demander ce qu’il fou là !!! Rien n’est respecté tout est dégradé.. sentiment d’insécurité, histoires de bagarres , de clans, .. certains prennent plaisir à dessiner sur la poussière des voitures la nuit 🤔 Et j’en passe ..! L’épicerie, oubliez ! Je n’avais jamais vu de baguette anorexiques avant ce séjour… Et n’oubliez pas de réserver vos viennoiseries ( c’est vrai qu’on a que sa à faire !! ) sinon c’est non ou restreint ! Heureusement que les sables d’olonne est une superbe ville avec pas mal de choses à faire car notre seule envie c’était de ne pas rester dans ce camping où nous avions l’impression d’être étrangers ..

vraiment dommage car ce camping pourrait être top avec une meilleure gestion et FRÉQUENTATION !!! ( confidences de certains personnels que c’est l’ambiance même entre personnels / direction qui est pourrie !!! )

Nous ne reviendrons pas dans ces conditions c’est sûr un gros travail est à effectuer ! Agents de sécurité hard discount et fréquentation caf désastreuse, dangereuse et irrespectueuse Bonne ambiance inexistante sentiment de tension...

This is not a campsite set up for campers and avoid if you like like your sleep before 1/2 am. ||We had an absolutely terrible experience. Our "pitch", if you could call it that, was a glorified car parking spot without proper electric hookup. The music from the pub and entertainment went on each night to 1am. It honestly felt like a nightclub, especially with the teens and young adults hanging around after until about 1.30/2am.||It felt unsafe for my family after 9pm to use the facilities, with young people (especially young men) being quite intimidating in the bathroom facilities. ||Overall this was a terrible experience and one I hope to never experience again. It is a site with mobile, geared mostly to families with teens. The pools were overcrowded but the slides were excellent and the entertainment staff were very helpful and good quality. Same with the maintenance team who did their best to help us get hooked up to electricity. I felt bad for them as we weren't happy with our pitch. ||Overall very unhappy and we paid more for this place than we did for some 5star campsites that were...
