Excellent campsite. We stayed here as part of an extended family group over 3 pitches for the last 2 weeks of the UK summer holidays. The site has great facilities - 2 toilet/shower blocks, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, kids club and bar that both opened for the first week we were there, very small shop, games room, fridge hire and direct access at the back of the site to the great local cycle paths. |Our pitch was great, level, plenty of space and next to the water/electric points. All toilets/showers were good - 1 block is newer than the other. The older one is still functional, just not as new as the refurbished block. Both have a washing machine and one has a tumble dryer. |There is also access to the sister site over the road which has a great little splash pool area for the kids. Some of the kids club activities were run from here too. The site also had a trampoline, lovely park and bouncy castle which the kids all loved. |The takeaway pizzas/chips were great, just a shame they were only available for the first week of our visit.|The only small negative was the noise from the some other campers. There were a few nights where the noise continued until the early hours which was disappointing! |The site is in a great location. Lovely walk up to St-Jean-De-Monts or Notre-Dames-De-Monts. Plenty of supermarkets a 10 minute drive away, a small supermarket a 10 minute walk away and some nice little cafes/coffee shops within walking...
Read moreWe visited Aux Coeurs Vendeens Campsite for a week during June 2017 and had a most enjoyable time. The site is quite compact but well laid out. The pitches are not particularly large and it was a squeeze for us to have our 7.3 meter long caravan with an awning erected plus a tow-car. The roadways and accesses are manageable but care is required when negotiating some corners.||We visited out of season so there were not an abundance of young families around. As a result there was not a child friendly programme or entertainment provided. Likewise there was not and abundance of food & drink available on site and it appeared that the entertainment area was being redecorated ready for the main season. Supermarkets with cheaper fuel are just a short drive in either direction so everything is so convenient. Free WiFi is available ||Back at the Camping's the two on-site swimming pools during our low season visit were a joy to use with a Spa, Sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room provided within the covered pool area.||The Staff in the office are very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Bread and Croissants were available from them at Reception every morning. The toilets washing-up and showering facilities are super with laundry machines available as well. However the crowning glory for the whole area is the access to the local beach with miles of flat sandy beaches to enjoy.||Yes, we had a great time and plan to revisit...
Read moreWe stayed for four nights in August, with car, tent and two bicycles. We wanted one of the smaller sites with plenty of trees and hedges for shade and a 'family run' feel to it. This one worked well for us. If you enjoy NOT being among lots of other English tourists this could be for you. Most people were French - meaning the Tuesday boules/petanque competition was a serious (but also seriously enjoyable) matter. We came 19th out of 19 pairs playing, but it was still great (bring your own boules though)!||||Very helpful staff (with one sullen exception). Washing and toilet facilities all kept very clean. An excellent beach is just a few minutes walk away. If you have (or hire) a bike you'll find this part of the Vendee has a fine network of cyclepaths and other routes. And one of the best restaurants for miles around (La Quich'Notte) is an easy walk away. We would...
