We had booked to stay here at the start of our holiday, just to help us unwind, we were lucky enough to have one of the big rooms on the ground floor first time, a really big typically French bed, good facilities a walk in wardrobe & with huge windows overlooking the garden.||The chateau is owned & run by Jean & Michel, they are the most perfect hosts who know how to look after people, just plain good hospitality at a good price & with the excellent food this was so good that we booked to go back at the end of our holiday too. Even though the room was smaller we still had all the comforts we needed, but at an even better price & still only one flight of steps away from the dining room.||The gardens are quaint with rabbits running around them, with a massive lily pond in the centre, if you go in good weather you can sit out under the stars, but if not there is a conservatory for those times to just while away the time. It does have wifi but the whole area seems to have poor coverage. Ample car parking, with the ability to drive the car up to the door for both loading & unloading.||In terms of the surrounding area there are some great cycle rides, massive expanse of beaches, surfing beaches & places to ride a horse or fish. Bordeaux is less than an hour away for the shops. But the Chateaus biggest attraction is that it is on the edge of some of the best wine growing lands in the world.||Both nights we stayed they were full & this had been the trend for most of the summer, long may this continue as far as I am concerned & I wish them...
Read moreWe arrived a little earlier than our booked 5pm time but fortunately we were met and taken to our room (No 1 on the ground floor) to settle in. From that moment we were made welcome and invited to make ourselves at home in this pretty chateau. The room was tastefully decorated in keeping with the period, comfortable with excellent air conditioning (necessary in the heatwave), an efficient shower and everything spotlessly clean. The Wi-fi was intermittent although more stable in the conservatory but we weren’t on holiday to surf the internet! Breakfasts provided a good start to the day and our two evening meals were most enjoyable. I should mention that the room was very quiet even though it was by the road because the windows had good double glazing. There is a car park within the attractive grounds, which was an important aspect for us. All in all a very pleasant stay and we would consider staying at Chateau Beau Jardin if in the area again. One final point, the owner spoke English which I’m sure would be a bonus to...
Read more(plus points) Double glazing drowned road noise. Good water pressure for shower. Staff in restaurant were attentive and pleasant. Great photo's to show hotel shame they did not match up.||||(minus points) In information pack advised to arrive after 5pm, we arrived at 5.45pm and had to wait ten minutes to be shown to our room, with no apology for being kept waiting. The bedroom was tired, carpets loose around edges and looked as if needed a clean. Furniture needs upgrading and loose curtain fittings. Had to plug in electric kettle on the floor, lack of sockets. Breakfast was of low quality and not...
