Château Bonalgue - Pomerol — Hotel in Libourne

Chateau Bonalgue is located just outside the town of Libourne in the Pomerol wine region. It is an operating winery, offering three nicely sized rooms for guests. There was a large parking area in front of the winery. Eveli did her best to ensure our comfort. We arrived late and used a key box to enter the Chateau (it’s very dark in this area). The next morning, we had to leave early for a guided wine tour and the Chateau left some food out for our breakfast. It was harvest season and we saw the workers head to the vineyard to pick Merlot grapes. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. This is a restored mansion, so the rooms blend the old with the new. The bath area is modern. What makes the Chateau unique is that we had free rein of the large living room and kitchen. We enjoyed going down early to use the expresso machine. There is also a large area to sit outside. The Chateau offers a free tour of the vines and cellar, as well as a tasting of the wines produced by the family. Adrien was our guide, and the tour and tasting were excellent! I did a tour of travel only in castles in Europe. I confess that my experience at Château Bonalgue Pomeol was really the best. This place is absolutely everything every details made with a lot of love, every square meter of the grapes plantation is absolutely well treated and everything with great care and immense dedication. The Castle was absolutely renovated, clean, beautiful, in absolute harmony, in tune with the production of wines, in which I obviously took several bottles home. I was received by Ms. Tatiana, a wine connoisseur, oenologist and sommelier, in which I had the exclusive appreciation of the castle wines. I was grandly welcomed by Tatiana who organized several restaurants and tours in the region, who prepared the entire Château Bonalgue Pomerol to welcome me, fantastic. I really felt in heaven. Tatiana was our host at the vineyard. She was exceptional and welcomed us warmly. Tatiana was very knowledgeable and was detailed in her explanation of the chateau, the process of growing at the vineyard, the different grape varieties. She also shared the opportunity of visiting in the future and staying in one of the three beautiful guest suites. We enjoyed a wonderful picnic outside in the garden and then continued our biking tour. I would highly recommend visiting Chateau Bonalgue and asking for Tatiana.
