Looking for a slice of heaven in the heart of French wine country? Look no further than this rustic gem of a holiday home, nestled among the rolling hills and vineyards of the region. And you might just spot yourself on an episode of "New Life in the Sun" as the crew was filming during our stay (with permission granted in advance, of course!). From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms by the friendly and fun-loving owners. Simon, the owner, took us on personalised morning runs through the vineyards, trundling behind us on his trusty old bike. The runs themselves were invigorating and scenic, with the sun rising over the vineyards and casting a golden glow over everything in sight. Simon pointed out local landmarks and shared fascinating stories about the history of the region, adding an educational element to our morning exercise routine. But the highlight of the property was undoubtedly the beautiful pool, which provided the perfect spot for us to soak up the sun and cool off after a long day of exploring the local towns and countryside. The house itself was a charming mix of traditional French architecture and modern amenities, with plenty of space for our family to relax and unwind. And what really made this place special was the hospitality of the owners. After each morning run through the vineyards, we were treated to a delicious breakfast of freshly baked croissants and steaming cups of coffee, courtesy of our generous hosts. It was the perfect way to refuel and start each day of our holiday on the right foot. From sharing their favorite local wines and cheeses with us to providing us with insider tips on the best restaurants and sights in the area, they made us feel like part of the family. Simon and Cheryl, the owners of this charming French holiday home, truly went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. One day, Simon surprised us with a visit to the old medieval town of Sarlat, which I used to visit as a child. I had mentioned to Simon that I used to go to a camp called Les Grottes de Roffy in the area, and he remembered and stopped by as a surprise. It was an amazing trip down memory lane and a wonderful way to reconnect with a place that held so many special memories for me. This is just one example of how Simon and Cheryl went out of their way to make our stay truly magical.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Fig Tree Farm and cannot recommend it enough! This elegantly furnished accommodation is nestled in the heart of the stunning Dordogne wine region, with fantastic access to many of the world’s finest vineyards and chateaus. It proved to be the perfect base for our week exploring the region and has great access to the charming towns in the surrounding area, such as Bergerac, Eymet and Saint Emilion. A special mention to the owners Simon and Cheryl, they were so warm and welcoming and were always on hand to provide their specialist knowledge and recommendations to make the trip truly perfect.

We have just returned home following a 3 week stay at Fig Trees and words cannot describe enough, what a fabulous place this is. Simon and Cheryl are superb hosts, cannot do enough to make your stay so memorable. The accommodation is second to none, the pool is excellent surrounded by a well-maintained garden. Should you wish to go out and about there are many nice villages/towns and restaurants around the area to visit. Already booked for next year, even before we left……Thanks for great relaxing holiday, see you in 2026. P.S. Cannot wait.

Having returned from our 6 week stay at Figtrees we miss it already. Simon and Cheryl are fantastic hosts and throughout our stay were incredibly kind and helpful. Supplying a selection of basic supplies and a cold drink to get us started after a long drive was a lovely way to start our stay. The Gites it self (Tiger Lilly) was perfect. Clean and spacious and well thought out with a nice comfy living space which was flooded with light from the setting sun every evening. The bedrooms were beautifully put together and the lower floor bedroom with en suite bathroom stayed nice and cool after continuous hot days. The upstairs bedroom was a nice private separation from the rest of the gites especially when family members came to stay with us.

The pool was amazing. Perfect temperature and always kept clean. With a ledge all the way around the inside it was ideal for our 3 year old to learn to swim in. The sun loungers and parasols were a great place to set up and spend the day in the sun.

There was a great selection of toys and games for our little girl to play with and Cheryl and Simon would often appear with new things for her to play with. They were fantastic with her and even bought her a few little presents on her Birthday which she celebrated out there.

Having spent 6 weeks there we would highly recommend it and will definitely look to stay with them again in the future. Would could not have been happier there and it really felt like a home from home. Even on our final evening they went above and beyond after we smashed our rear window, helping us to patch it up for our...
